According to Windy's latest tweet, there's a chance Cavs will make minor trade this week

Chance Cavs will make roster move this week. 4 guys with nonguaranteed deals leaves them in position to make a minor trade.

I really don't expect to see Ferry use the unguaranteed contracts for any "minor" trade. He must be looking for something bigger, and this is certainly not the time to make a big trade.

We have to wait 'til February.

The deadline for contracts to be guaranteed is Sunday....but a non-guaranteed player needs to be released by Wednesday in order to clear waivers.

We have some non-guaranteed contracts that can get us a guaranteed player and save the team trading to us some money. The team that trades with us simply cuts those non-guaranteed players.
