Per Windy tweet: Chance Cavs will make roster move this week

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
cavs can get about a $2.9M player if they trade Karl/Jawad/Darnell. I took a quick look at the rosters and one player that seems to fit that window who might be available for a team that is losing $$ would be DJ Augustin. Not saying the Cavs need him, but he would be a nice backup, and he's young. But I don't even think Charlotte gives up their lotto pick from last year for a couple million savings.

Better chance the cavs keep those guys and include them in a bigger deal come Feb to help the salaries match. And, Coby is probably cut, just like Jawad last year.

cavs hoping green shows something, so some team might view him as a prospect...

Shit, with the way JMoon has been playing lately, Mike Brown should just give Danny Green some of Moon's minutes, and allow him a chance to play with the Cavs on a professional stage and showcase him that way.

I hate how rookies don't get a chance to play on this team. Especially during those games where nothing appears to be going right, energy is low, and you never know what sub can spark your team in the right direction.

Jawad + Coby + Darnell (for immediate $$ savings) + JJ + 2010 1st + 2012 1st for Rudy Gay :king:

Just some thoughts...

Do the Hornets want to get rid of Bobby Brown?

Do the Blazers want to get rid of Jerryd Bayless? Or Patrick Mills?

Anthony Morrow?

That's all I got in big names for small prices, but let's keep trying to figure it out...

Highly highly doubt they'd move him for what we have to offer.

edit: but yeah I have no idea who it could be.

Darren Collinson?

I know New Orleans just drafted him, but they are obviously looking to cut costs, just look at the failed Devon Brown trade from this past week. Collinson is not going to get the chance to play more than 10-15 minutes a night behind CP3. With Devon Brown and Bobby Brown on the roster to handle back-up point duty's for the time being, I would think the possibility atleast remotely exists if they are able to save roughly 1.5 millions dollars by doing it. Just a shot in the dark though.

It will probably be someone completely unexpected if it happens at all.

Are the Cavs at all intrigued by Kosta Koufos?

Is Utah looking to save money?

With the reports out of Utah stating they're close to making a trade (it didn't specify that it was a major trade), this kind of makes sense.

Kouofos makes around $1.1-$1.2 M this season.

Let's just remember that it would be extremely hard to do a 3 for 1 deal. A team can have a maximum of 15 players (16 with league approval- doesn't apply here). That means a team needs 13 or fewer players to actually be able to send out that bigger contract.

Which brings up my next point. Utah's roster currently stands at just 12 players.

This is beginning to look like a pretty good possibility.

And it's not like Koufos gets a lot of time for them. He's only appeared in 17 games, averaging 3.5 minutes per.

Not really... you just waive the incoming players. That is why the Cavs contracts are looking good right now. You can waive the players without paying them.

It makes me wonder the chance we have at doing something. Maybe 90%? Good for talks on the board to satisfy some of that hunger the posters have for trade season.

The chances of a deal where we get a rotational player out of it? Maybe 60%? God, it makes me antsy...

Insert the saying: PULL THE TRIGGER DANNY!

And this time, it actually seems like a great idea! And you can't fault Ferry for sitting on his hands, either.

With how our roster stands at this point, I say it's more like 1%. I firmly believe this trade is going to set up bigger things down the road....most likely for another trade at the deadline, or at the very least a younger player (I say a center is a good bet) we may utilize heavier in the next few seasons.
