Per Windy tweet: Chance Cavs will make roster move this week

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dudleys one of the best role players in the league.. they're not going to get rid of him.

Problem with the Suns is they only have 13 players on their roster if we send them two contracts for one of theirs they could only waive one to keep to the league minimum on their roster. The deal can be done but it cuts into the savings.

They have 14 on their roster. http://www.shamsports.com/content/pages/data/salaries/suns.jsp

Just for future reference, you can go to 11 players for a couple weeks if need be. Didn't look up the exact requirements. (I know that has nothing to do with what you said, as they would eventually have to sign someone in your scenario. I just wanted to inform people that might ask something like this later.)

13 no Alando Tucker he is a T-Wolf and whilst you can go under the 13 mark temporarily you still have to have 13 long term. You would still have to sign a min contract that would count towards the lux tax.

Good find. Damn Sham for not having his site up to date. And you have to have 12 long term, not 13. (I think you meant to say that, just put the wrong number.)

All teams must have 12 players on their active list at least 1 on the inactive list. I think it is 13 check out the link below. It also mentions the two week period you are allowed to be below this limit.

You're right. I got lazy after you crushed my great deal and didn't feel like looking it up. 12 on the active list, at least one on the inactive. Can drop to zero for two weeks and go up to four with league approval.

I think the Lopez idea and pick from PHX makes the most sense here.

Robin hardly gets playing time out in Phoenix, and he would likely be the candidate to leave. I doubt Sarver/Kerr have even considered to let Dudley, Frye or Clarke go, but I guess you never know.

Getting Lopez is ideal for the Cavs for a few reasons. It all plays into the whole Z/Jamison idea.
Once we ship Z out, Lopez will step up and be the insurance guy for Shaq and Varejao. Lopez can step in and play limited minutes here and there and basically simulate what Z does around the rim (offensive rebounds, tip-ins, dunks:chuckles:, and blocks on the defensive end.) We all have to admit, the added youth and mobility to the front court would be welcomed with open arms.

The second part is that Ferry would demand ATLEAST a 2nd round pick along with Lopez. We can use that pick and package it in the Z for Jamison deal.

We know that the Wizards are going to play as match hardball with us as possible before letting Jamison come our way. It's not going to be easy, and if a Z + JJ swap for Jamison and Blatche does not happen, then we better be prepared to send a pick and/or cash (for the buyout) over to Washington.

Boy; I sure do like the getting Lopez idea. It goes to what I believe Ferry wants to do at the deadline and creates a situation for the Cavs with SEVEN bigs at the deadline. That means Ferry could use a few of our bigs in a trade for a much nicer big at the deadline.

PDcavsinsider Signs point to the Cavs waiving Coby Karl today.

^^^^ That wouldn't even qualify as a minor roster adjustment Windy was talking about. That would be a microscopic adjustment! I hope Ferry has something better planned than that, especially with teams out there looking to eat these players up to cut salary.

Instead of waiving Karl I would think we would want to package him a deal no? Seems kind of pointless to just save the $ unless Ferry is freeing up a roster spot.

Or, noone wanted to give up someone worth while to just save money....ie....Robin Lopez or someone of that level.

Robin Lopez....that would be a solid move.

Nice to see him working with Shaq again.
I think that guy can develop into a serviceable big.

Could be. I guess he was always going to be the odd man out like Jawad was.

according to windy's chat it's now very unlikely (with the injury of moon) that the cavs will make that kind of trade...but they'll probaly cut coby karl
