Playoff Positioning

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We need the Hawks to beat the Wizards, the Rockets to beat the Bulls, and the Nets to beat the Raptors tonight. Then, we will be 4th in the east, 1 game behind the Wizards and 3 games behind the Raptors.
Craptors losing bulls losing and wizards losing woot woot

I'll update the original post as soon as the Bulls finish.

Tonight went about as well as you could hope for if you're a Cavs fan. Now they need to go out tomorrow night and take care of business.

Bulls lost!!!! Next comes 3rd seed.

I am happy, but again, I don't care that much. Health is all I care about. We are the team no one in the East wants to play. I'm sure Chicago would be more than happy to see us jump up a few spots, so they don't have to play us in the first round.

Seeding doesn't matter to me, as long as we're healthy and playing good basketball going into the playoffs. I don't think anyone in the East can beat us if we have that.

Bulls fall 101-90 at Houston, moving the Cavs into a tie for the 4th seed, which they take because of their 2-0 series lead.

There's a solid chance they might be able to move into that third seed before the All-Star break, and the second seed not long after.

I'll update the post again once Milwaukee finishes up against the Lakers. Right now they are in overtime.

I thought Chicago was our top threat, but maybe I'm looking wrong about that. I still fear them the most. They're underachieving a lot right now, like we were at the beginning of the year. But they can still make a trade, have a few tweaks, and get rolling again. They also are on their West coast trip to be fair.

That team looks like a mess right now.

I agree on the health issue, especially with KI, Shump, Love, and LBJ's recent history. Murphy's law.

On the other hand, I think we have a great chance of getting into the second seed without much trouble based on the current health and play of the other 3 teams we're contending with. What I'd like to see is that we bring in another center and PG/SG for insurance to mitigate the possibility of injuries.

They look awful. Noah is still moving slowly and he had a dreadful game tonight (although with Dwight Howard out, he managed to grab 19 rebounds). They're not defending well. Thibs is running his starters into the ground.

Butler played 41 minutes.
Rose played 38 minutes.
Gasol played 34 minutes.

Other than Taj Gibson getting 30 minutes off the bench, no other bench player had more than 15 minutes tonight.

Unless they get so amazingly efficient that they are able to start sitting out entire fourth quarters on a consistent basis, that team is gonna have some dead legs come playoff time.

Go figure a Danny Ferry run team is going to get home court and is our biggest threat. This season has been odd for sure.

No reason they shouldn't get up to the 2nd seed. They're only about 4 games out.

Hell they may be the third by the all star break.

I'd perfer they avoid chicago\Washington in the first round. Let KI and KL get their feet wet.

The Bulls being a threat to us was contingent on Derrick Rose getting back to some semblance of what he was before his injury. That hasn't happened. A Bulls team with "League Average Player Derrick Rose" isn't a threat to us at all. Add to that the fact that Thibs appears to have lost the team and I just don't see them making much noise in the East.
