Didn't they say it was 2029?

Yes but apparently it's in an alternate timeline or some shit where the other Wolverine movies didn't happen, but also heard it's in the timeline of one of the other X Men movie. I don't know ,lol

Acting was certainly good, and the scene with Affleck and Michelle Williams on the sidewalk was maybe the best acted scene of any movie last year.

2 things that bothered me, personally.

One: I am not a big fan of movies that spend a lot of time with showing how "realistic" their characters are. There's multiple scenes worth of Casey Affleck taking out garbage, shoveling snow, driving in traffic, walking on the sidewalk, etc. There's realism in movies, then there is just wasting time.

Two: And more importantly, no one in the movie was likeable. Not one character. I understand it's a movie about the grieving process, but give me SOMEONE to root for. Anyone.

Affleck is a jerk. The kid is a jerk. The kids mom is a jerk. Everybody in town is a jerk. Just a bunch of assholes doing asshole things. I don't care if any of them sufficiently grieved, because I dislike all of them.

I didn't necessarily need a happy ending, just some happiness is the movie somewhere.

Hmm, guess I just have different taste. I really like a lot of the shots you felt were a waste. Loved the shoveling scene in the beginning after he finds out the news he finds out about. The way he doesn't completely stop, how he goes back and grabs the shovel/bag after it falls. Made me really connect with the character and made him feel real.

The hospital scene was amazing. "It's not a good disease." And then the brother reacts the same way everyone watching the film would have reacted. So good. The humor is actually incredible to me in this movie. Laughed out loud multiple times because of how spot on so much of the dialogue was.

And maybe I'm a weirdo but I thought both Casey Affleck's character as well as his nephew were pretty likeable... Casey in particular. He was really droll and confused but I get why. Was well intentioned but just beat down. I dunno, enjoyed it a lot, but interesting hearing your perspective.

I tried reading about where this movie falls in the timeline and whatnot, and just got totally fucking confused. I just look at it as a stand alone. These comic book timelines are so ridiculous.
The X-Men really don't care about continuity. They've had 3 different cases where they had a character in a movie, and then have a character with the same exact name be another film, but be a completely different character.

Yea X-Men hasn't tried to keep a timeline at all. It started with that god awful Wolverine Origins movie that was so bad they basically decided to pretend it didn't happen. Then they did the Days of Future past which merged about 3 timelines..and since that point its just been whatever.

I'm just waiting for Sony to sell off the X-Men rights and for Hugh to come flying in at the end of Infinity War to kill off Thanos like a boss.

Whats great about that, IMO, is that its no different than comics with all of their alternate storylines. It helps you suspend disbelief

Anyone else ever wondered why Cyclops hardly gets a big role in any of the X-Men movies ? He is the leader of the XMen and someone who always gets annoyed with Wolverine - I always thought they would have a nasty fight coming soon. But most of the Xmen seem to be Wolverine featuring the XMen. Heck even Mystique has a bigger role in the franchise than Cyclops. Hopefully future X Men movies can bring in some balance.

Logan - 7 /10

An old and washed up Wolverine and Professor X with degenerative disease must transport a mutant girl Laura to Canada. Their journey is complicated by Dr Rice who sends the Reavers and a new mutant X24 to track them down and stop the.

If this movie gets a great collection, then this will be the second R rated movie by Marvel that does really well after Deadpool. This movie is much slower than the conventional superhero genre and has much more drama as well. The acting of Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart is top notch and the little girl who plays Laura is amazing. While the movie is slow, It does a good job of character buildup.

In many ways, this movie is a good send off for Hugh Jackman and Pat Stewart. I dont think the movie gave a clear explanation of what happened to the rest of the X Men. Maybe I missed it. Also, this movie has the weakest set of villains in the X-Men franchise. The violence however is gratuitious and it makes me wonder how awesome it would have been if all the Wolverine movies were made rated-R. Anyways, goodye Hugh Jackman and maybe goodbye Wolverine ?

Not a big fan of any of the X-Men movies, never saw any in the theaters. I give them a download just to see them but out of all the comic book movies they just don't hold my interest.

I saw this on my television recently and, yes, please.

Don't Breathe - 7/10

Premise: The three worst thieves in the world try to rob Daredevil.

Basically, this movie has a fun, simple premise and works well within that premise. I thought they went a little overboard with making the blind guy turn out to actually be the bad guy (I thought it was more interesting when the thieves were just getting what was coming to them), but overall the movie was enjoyable and had some good, tense horror sequences. It's not the scariest horror film out there, but I liked it. And it was unique enough to score some extra points.

The acting was hit or miss. Stephen Lang and the chick from Suburgatory were good. The other two guys were kind of terrible. That said, I'm willing to forgive bad acting performances more in a horror film than in most genres, and the bad guy and main protagonist both nailed their roles so it was less noticeable.

Overall, I'd recommend it if you're in the mood for a decent horror film with an interesting premise.

Charles killed them. There was a news report after he had a seizure in Vegas that pretty much said it, then right before he died he remembered doing it as well.

I rarely watch movies so I rarely check this thread, but I just wanted to make sure everyone knows my stance that a good musical is an oxymoron and I think that musicals are the current biggest problem in the world and they must be stopped

John Wick 2 - I liked it better than the first. Action was crazy and some of the ways he killed people were awesome. Keanu is the fucking man.

The Nice Guys - Thought it was hilarious, Ryan Gosling probably in his best performance since the Notebook. Russell Crowe and Ryan seemed like an odd pairing but they definitely worked together. Wouldn't mind a sequel if they brought back same writers and director.

The Visit: eh, wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen, nothing great about it. I saw the twist coming from a mile away...give it a 6/10

Dr. Strange: I thought it was awesome, give it a 9/10. I've never seen a Cumberbatch movie, but had this idea that he wouldn't be able to pull it off. I was wrong- he was excellent.
