Life 6/10

I'm only able to look past huge plot holes when the story is well delivered. This was not one of them times. Shame great idea and visually well done

As for Superman v. Wonder Woman, well, I think it just ends in them banging so can't decide a winner there.

Yeah, in Spidey's wet dreams....

I was kind of looking forward to the Wonder Woman movie -- she was the best part of BvS. But then, the SJW campaign started, and instead of being just a movie, it became all about "empowerment" and "strong, powerful women", adjectives I assume are routinely added because most women apparently aren't strong or powerful (right?). Sitting in the audience would be like the mandatory clapping after each point at a girls' volleyball game.

So I'll just wait for it to come on HBO or something.

I'm glad I saw Mad max before I started looking at politics.

Yeah -- just make the freaking movie, and let it stand on its own. I don't care if the hero is male or female as long as it's a good flick.

It's the dwelling on the social implications of all this that makes me want to puke.

I'm sure Captain Marvel will get some of the same treatment. Once Hollywood starts featuring women in those roles, those sentiments will change.

I'm guessing that Black Panther will get some of the same kinds of reactions for featuring so many black actors.

Just got around to watching Suicide Squad

That movie sucked - 4/10

This isn't Ghostbusters '16.

The movie stands on its own. I don't understand your reasoning. Why would some media types talking about a lack of female superheroes ruin it for you?

It seems much closer to "most" than just "some", and it's just annoying. I'll see the movie at some point, but I'm not going to shell out the bucks to feed into that crap.

Much more excited to see Dunkirk anyway.

Good god man. Where do you watch movies at?

Movie was pretty good... Yes there were female empowerment scenes, but why would that put anyone off?

Knowing what goes on behind the scenes and being cognizant of the agenda stigmatizes the art.

What agenda?
In this example, feminism. Ghostbusters was a really good example of a movie that became unwatchable because of ofd screen antics. It actually wasn't even that bad.

But crowbaring women into roles simply bc of their genitals is just off putting. And mad max was great, I'm glad it wasn't ruined for me. That's sort of why I back off of the culture war

I couldn't care less if Wonder Woman is a female badass -- I have zero issues with that. Loved her character in BvS.

But before I go farther -- what do you mean by "female empowerment" scenes? I mean, she was a badass in BvS, but it was organic -- there wasn't any commentary or emphasis in the movie that we should all take particular note that she was a female badass. It didn't seem like they were trying to make a point -- they were just introducing a new cool character.

Did they do something different in the WW movie?
