Warriors must hv done something wrong with him if he is taking the vet min from the Clippers. GSW is still looking for a big and I don't know why they wouldn't sign him at that price otherwise.

The something wrong was that they left themselves no money to pay him. You always take Durant and figure it out, but it doesn't surprise me that the bench guys would be pissed when you effectively give the middle finger to your "strength in numbers" motto.

yeah but he signed for the vet minimum...Warriors could hv done that as well, no?
I mean with his baby bottle emoji to Bron, he seemed to be well "in" in their culture...thats why I'd like to know what they told him

Wow. I give him credit for fucking the Warriors by signing for the minimum elsewhere.
I would have to think some of those Warriors players have to feel pissed getting thrown to the side for KD. I mean they were one of the best teams in the history of the NBA in large part due to the bench. Hell there was times I was more worried about the bench going on runs than I was with Steph/Klay on the court.

I understand you can't say no to adding Durant to the team but Warriors are messing with fire breaking up that team.

I agree with this -- but note that DeMarcus Cousins only had a Frequency of 19.4% for Post-Ups this year (he did have 363 post-ups, but that was due to his ball dominance).

Kevin Love, by comparison, had a 24.6% Frequency of post-ups (and nearly as many possessions - 310 - despite being much less ball dominant.

True on the high attempts, look at what Cousins is doing with all those midrange shots. His field goal percentage has been in a free fall in the past two seasons. Again, that's why I don't see this as a viable trade. Love has learned to be efficient as a third banana while Cousins is jacking up a high volume of low percentage shots at 45% from the field. That on court lack of efficiency will eventually drive LeBron crazy. I'm not even touching his mental strength, which is equally dubious.

I am worried about both of these points -- in particular whether he is mentally tough enough to play 3rd string on a contending team....

But DeMarcus Cousins FG% is higher than Kevin Love's in Minnesota (or Kevin Love's in Cleveland). His 3PT% this year (0.333) isn't that far off Love's (0.360) despite the fact that Love is going to get much more space on his 3PT shooting.

I don't think the Cavs make this trade -- and I would certainly be worried about Cousins on this team. But talent/fit wise, it's a no brainer if he got his mind together (and possibly a disaster if he didn't).

I do think you are overrating Kevin Love's efficiency in this offense....

True, but he probably felt he was owed more by the Warriors for being a contributor off the bench these past couple of years. Maybe he felt like he should have gotten that $2.9 mil that Zaza got?

Are we using basic shooting stats again (FG% and 3P%)? Dear Lord, someone save RCF from this plague.

Kevin Love's TS% in Cleveland has been .557, and although his 3PT% isn't much higher than Cousins's, he shoots them at a substantially higher volume, which makes his percentage much more impressive. Love's 2PT% in Cleveland is actually slightly higher than Cousins's as well.

Cousins had a TS% of .538 last year, and his career high is .555 from 2013-14.

So, while everybody has complained about the inconsistencies of Love's offense in Cleveland, he's been more efficient than Cousins has been at any point in his career.

Kevin Love (in Cleveland)
3PT% .363
2PT% .474
FT% .813

Cousins (last season)
3PT% .333
2PT% .473
FT% .718

I am for the Cousins trade but I can see why it could be a risky move but taking the shooting efficiency to bash Cousins and say Love is a better solution seems a bit strange to me. Besides the 3 points %, Love's percentage is freefalling while getting more open shots! Plus if you check Love's % pre-Cavs, I can't see a big difference with those of Cousins, 3 points % excluded.
Again I can understand the points on why not getting Cousins but that angle doesn't work imo.

Bullshit. Z could, but became a mid-range threat in pick and pops to give LeBron driving lanes. Shaq got along on court with LBJ like oil and water. Bosh abandoned his post scoring with LBJ on the court. Ditto Love. LeBron prefers the paint opened up, which is why Griffin traded for Frye.

Your post should make you feel bad.

Lol my post? Your post is whack.

First of all big z was never a bruising post player. He was always more of a shooter and his athleticism sucked compare to cousins.

And to mention a 38 year old shaq is laughable. Lebron would have got along just fine with a non washed up version of shaq especially if lebron played the 4 next to him.

Bosh and love were and are power forwards, not bruising centers like draymond. Totally different styles of players and positions.

Lebron has never had a player like boogie.. And no an Injured 38 year old shaq doest count. Lebron gets along with Thompson on the court just fine.

Boogie can stretch the court as well.

Yes it seems your view must be the reason but weird nonetheless given he seemed to be part of the "family" :) at least as the social community manager!
