Rockets shut down trade talks about Omer Asik

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
How many centers even exist that are elite defenders and can stretch the floor? We're going to have to choose one or the other, realistically, and it makes more sense to solve the defense problem with a center and the floor spacing problem with a PF. If Harden can thrive with Asik on the floor there's no reason Kyrie can't do the same if you surround the two with shooters.

The problem Is his contract and this team is headed back to a top six pick at this point. If anything If he can be had for future picks maybe. This draft Is to good to gamble on Asik for if our first first round pick or Waiters Is not involved then get It done.

I don't think the team gets any better with Asik, except defensively and in rebounding. plus it saves the Cavs needing to play TT at center (in case of AV trade/injury). certainly, he would have no offensive impact relative to Bynum. It would also allow the Cavs a better big with whom to pair Bennett (for example) to see if he can be the shooter from the PF position that he seems to be billed as. the main thing is the contract. if not for that, I would do a Bynum/Asik swap immediately. also keeps him away from Miami. added bonus.

I think it's nationally known that as of now, Bennett is not the shooter he was billed to be..........in fact the player he was billed to be. Not saying he won't get there because I think he can and will but as of now he has not even heard of our expectations(metaphorically)
