IF a trade for Asik can be worked out for the right price (a real unknown), then he would probably be the best choice among the realistic options. What separates Asik from Pek is that he's a better defensive player. Pek is better at O. Given the roster construction with Kryie, Dion, and now Karasev and AB, we don't necessary need even more offense, we need the best defender we can get. Among the options I see, that's Asik.
But as Scholar pointed out, we have to be careful since Asik only has two years left on his deal. That mean he expires right around the time we might finally be contending again.
