Roy Hibbert 7-2 / 278 lbs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I wouldn't be dispondent if they did, but it's not my money. As long as it didn't impact future retention of our young core, sure, why not. I just agree that it's bad value.

I think most of us should apologize to Roy Hibbert for demeaning his talent in this thread. Comparing him to O'Bryant?Koufos?Thabeet? Now where are those guys?. :D This shows that we don't know shit about these players other than the coaches and scouts who actually evaluates them.

I agreewith you guys that he will be overpaid but he is a 15/10 guy maybe more with Kyrie running the point. Shores up a lot of need on this team and fast, plus andy moving back to the 4 would give us a very nice tandem down low.

Personally, when I heard of him before that draft, a thought came to mind:

"Post operation Big Z"

It just seemed natural. But from his movements, he's much slower and isn't quite the shooter. That's why I wanted him over the other guys and was disappointed. Oh well. What's done is done. Hopefully, someone else can rightfully take the mantle that Brad and Z originally held onto since 1986-1993 and 1997-2010.

So every 4 years we get a good C after previous? When was the last season we had one, 3 season ago?

Reading this topic was interesting... Funny how everybody bashed Hibbert at the time. I am pretty sure most of us would have loved Hibbert over Hickson now!

I am not a huge hibbert fan either, he is a stiff. But he is certainly above average starter (that all star selection was bull though)! He seems like he is developping a mid range game, which is good. I see a lot of Z in his game.

As for getting him, I wouldn't be against throwing let's say... 9mil/yr, but that's never going to pry him away from the pacers. He is definitely not worth the max right now.

Yikes. I got that Hibbert stuff wrong.

Wow Roy Hibbert's dad was pretty spot on. Imagine that :chuckles:

This was a solid grave dig. Some funny posts. Fun to look back and see guys who know basketball get it wrong, It happens. Hibbert isn't all that he's hyped up to be now but he's certainly better than we collectively gave him credit for.

You and me both, brother.

Geez, whatever happened to Camakazee?

I still read and lurk a decent amount but I'm way too busy anymore to recap, post on, or even watch most Cavs games unfortunately. Hopefully all these hours with a couple of different sports teams pays off in the future.

What teams do you work for if you dont mind me asking?

This thread made me laugh. MYoung defends Z feverishly for years, and then puts down his disciple. I for one wanted Anthony Randolph in that draft. Thought he had great potential, and I'm still enamored with that potential. There are nothing wrong with plodders. Shame on you M. I thought you were a basketball man, rather than into aesthetics.:)
