Seattle Mariners @ Cleveland Indians - August 22, 23, 24

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So you're saying with those guys in the lineup Tomlin doesn't get lit up by the Mariners?

Who knows. Bottom line is we are being decimated by injuries. It's not even an excuse anymore, lady luck hates us with a passion.

ESPN's Buster Olney reporting Jim Thome and Jason Kubel claimed on waivers. Teams not known, but #Indians probably 1 of them.

Who are we going to be playing in the ALDS?

It will be rather sad if the Indians get Thome while we have all these shit heads on the D.L and barely win 75 games... Kind of hoping he doesn't end his career like that.

Instead he's going to go to the White Sox and never play

He'll block the claim to the White Sox in a heartbeat.

We were 1.5 games back last Friday after winning the Sox series. It's Wednesday and the possibility of being 7 games back after tonight. In five days we lost that much ground. We had Choo back last Friday and Hafner was still fine. Brantley was playing as well. We were missing Sizemore and Kipnis at that time.

To now say we are this far back because of all the injuries is kind of lame. Choo just missed today's game. Hafner started missing games yesterday. We still had lost 4 in a row starting with Detroit with those two playing. I'm tired of hearing about the injury excuse. The SP has been a mess this week except for Carmona and Masterson. ALL others have been shit. The hitting has been shit. The defense has been shit. Don't blame this all on injuries as we have been losing anyway.

Are the records for determining waivers, set as soon as the player is claimed?

Or does it matter that we now have the same record as the White Sox?

I am guessing it is determined when the player is claimed. Is Choo really going to be out for a long time? This is unreal... How the Mariners have rocked our pitching staff is beyond me...

Is Kubel a FA this year or next? Kind of glad if the Sox get Thome, wasn't too keen on giving up a prospect for a one month rental.

Is there anyone on here that still has any hope of still making the playoffs? If you STILL have hope, please get in touch with a mental institution.

Reminds me of June when we were 8 games up and a week later we were 1 game up.

If the season were one week long, this might be a valid point.

Hafner will have missed at least two months.

Sizemore more than 100 games.

Choo missed two months.

Kipnis will miss a month.

Alex White, before he was traded, missed almost two months.

Carrasco missed 2 months.

If, at the beginning of the season, you would have known those players would have gone on the DL....where would you predict this team to finish?

This team greatly exceeded expectations despite being DECIMATED by injury.

Kudos to Manny Acta and his staff for holding things together with all that's happened.

Yeah, Kubel is a FA in one month. At this point it's pointless to rent either Thome or Kubel or anyone else for one month. I don't want to give up even one young player who could possibly be good for simply one month of nothing.

I'd rather call up more kids to fill in for the rest of the season.

In regard to Thome, they'll be giving up a prospect of almost no significance if they do decide/are able to acquire him

Tigers even took over All Bets are Off?

Goes to show how they feel about the Tribe right now
