They both think the baseball world revolves around their two teams....Not the case.

I hate how they both think the Yankees vs Sox rivalry is the best in sports..it pales in comparison to...

OSU vs Michigan
Duke vs UNC

Hell I'd throw Miami vs Florida International ahead of the Yanks and Sox

Two teams that fight over cheating players in a game where stats mean more than winning games...forget it.

thats easy to say because your not a fan of either, itd be like me telling you that Woodberry Forrest vs. Episcopal High School is one of the biggest rivarlys in high school sports. everyone is entitled to their opinion, but in the majority of polls, Red Sox/Yankees comes out on top.

Its a rivalry between the fans, but when you see guys like Damon/Clemens,etc just walk over to the other side, its hard to take seriously as an outsider.

Would Woody Hayes ever taken an offer at Michigan? He'd die before doing that. Coach K at UNC? Of course not.

Pro rivalries pale in comparison to college rivalries.

Florida/Florida St/UMiami
Texas/Oklahoma
Alabama/Auburn
and a whole lot more...

give me those over the superficial Bos/NYY rivalry any day.

Cubs/Cardinals is the best rivalry in baseball IMO.

People also forget that the Yankees/Redsox deal is a more recent thing, I would even say that the Yankees and Blue Jays were just as big rivals in the early 90s. Hell, there was an extended period in time where the Yankees and Tribe were eachother's biggest rival.

Also, ESPN doesn't seem to realize that 95% of the country doesn't care about it, yet it is all I see during Baseball Tonight and SportsCenter during the season. For instance, this past season in May or so, two top national league teams had a great extra inning affair (can't remember who), but the leading story on Baseball Tonight was how the Yankees and Redsox game that was rained out would effect the AL East race.....in May.

Part of my problem is that ESPN/National pudits somehow believe that most of the country cares about the rivalry.

haha you guys do your thing and we will do ours. i guess i came across a bunch of people who hit the "no" button on the ESPN poll asking wether or not it was the biggest sports rivarly, its ok!

James don't even try to say NYY BOS is better than Ohio State Michigan. I posted something on this rilvary a long time ago but can't find it on here.

UNC Duke is much better as well.

I'd put this one third.

1. OSU UM
2. UNC Duke
3. NYY BOS

but for real, who the **** cares...its the best pro rivarly, according to your chart. and unlike in college, im glad i dont have to argue over a season split or some bullshit, i get to see them play each other 19 times a year, and you know each team is going to bring it...and like i said, i could careless what anyone really thinks. especially some midwesterners.
