SJax and Z trade rumor UPDATE CAVS STILL INTRESTED

UPDATE

Cavs still intrested in Jackson
According to sources, the Cavaliers do have an interest in Stephen Jackson and have had some internal discussions about trading for him.

The Warriors are seeking a big man in return, which is something the Cavaliers don't have a surplus they are willing to part with at this time.

Cleveland is expected to continue to monitor the situation.

The remaining seasons on Jackson's contract are reportedly not a huge concern for the franchise.

Not a chance of happening. I actually give it a negative probability of occurring.

All bets are off in February though.

This would be stupid to do now. We need to make sure the transition to Shaq goes smoothly. Z needs to be here for that.

But I agree with CCF in regards to February. If Shaq stays healthy and we have a nice record going into the trade deadline, could be a possibilty, but I still wouldnt do it straight up.

I'm sure I'm crazy for holding on to this, but I'm still hoping Toronto has a horrible season and come deadline are looking at moving Bosh. We would have to have Z's contract for any chance of that.
and I just have wet dreams thinking about a starting front court of LeBron, Bosh, and Shaq.

But I know there is a minimal chance of this happening so don't flame. I'm not one of those posters.

i would never take jackson after he signed that huge extension last year (btw that was a dumb move by the management of the warriors). they would have to give us great young talent as well to sweeten such a deal and i don't see anybody on their roster we could be interested in and i know that they have guys like randolph, wright and curry...

also like the poster before me said i think if jj continues to grow and plays great and toronto has a bad record in february that there could be a real possibility that they might accept a package of jj, Z, picks....for bosh

This is beyond retarded. When you actually read the article it shows that the guy is clueless.

As Jackson has already said, he would love to go to Cleveland. And a starting perimeter of Mo Williams, Stephen Jackson and LeBron James sounds pretty formidable, especially with the likes of Parker, West and Bobbie Gibson coming off the bench.

Who tha hell is Bobbie Gibson?:chuckles:

Aweful idea btw we need our depth at the 5

I would hate this. This would absolutely handcuff the Cavs for years to come when trying to sign free agents. I really like Captain Jack, but he's got a hideous contract on the wrong side of 30. Besides, I don't know about you guys, I LOVE having so much depth at the 5. Two starting-quality centers, one of them a Hall-of-Famer, on the same team? 17 combined All-Star games? That's gotta be scary for other teams.

That being said, I wouldn't mind a package of JJ, Z, and picks for Bosh if Toronto is sucking, assuming Z would take a buyout and come right back. Heck, even if he wouldn't come back (much as it pains me to say it), basketball is a business and you have to do what is best for the team and the fans. At any rate, I'll be really sad to see Z go and the big fella will definitely have his jersey hanging from the rafters.

Asked Windhurst about it and he says theres nothing to it.

I'd rather keep our options open and wait til the trade deadline to do something unless we can get an absolute home run of a deal. I'd still love to see if Z, JJ and delonte west gets us Chris Bosh at some point, assuming Bosh would sign an extension.

No way we add a shooting guard that cant shoot. Its that simple. Any gueard we have added in the last 2 or 3 years has been a shooter. After Hughes, Ferry knows we need a sharp shooting sg (see parker)...plus i dont think we need another wing player. If we make a trade, it will be a minor one for a vet pg to back up mo.

Per Windy's Twitter:

PDcavsinsider Z says he's ignoring Warriors trade rumor. As he should, Cavs won't trade big for small unless for a star. Stephen Jackson doesn't qualify.

PDcavsinsider When trade rumors come remember Cavs will take on salary but they want bigs back. They added size for LAL, Orl, Bos. Not giving it up now.

He has since broadcast that view to the world:

The guy is just stirring things up. This to me sounds like the Warriors put the idea on the table and Cleveland said no. This guy wants to bring it to life and make it sounds like there is more to it.

When you read into it like MYoung said, he doesn't know what he's talking about. Saying things like the Warriors would take a contract off Cleveland's hands and names West and Varejao as possibilities.

They don't want Z in their offense anyway. Now Av would make sense for them, but we have the same problem giving big for small, and we need Andy.
