If you make good music and contributed to music and have people that care about your music, do you really care if you are in a stupid made up "Hall of Fame." It doesnt make your music any better or worse.

With that said, Jethro Tull and The Cars are deserving.

I do sometimes wonder if these guys care as much about the HOF as athletes do. It's pretty clear that athletes take it very seriously and show it with their speeches. Especially this guy:

How can you get to his age and still speak English about as well as Manny Ramirez?

More snubs: Willie Nelson, Stevie Ray Vaughan

I suspect that Bon Jovi will be inducted some day, if only on the strength of Slippery When Wet and "Livin' On A Prayer."

As for the new era, I have to agree that RHCP and Green Day will make the cut. Radiohead, too.

The Foo Fighters are one of my absolute favorite bands - I think they're a lot more dynamic/versatile than they're often given credit for. If the Hall doesn't elect them, I wonder if Dave Grohl might get an individual nod for his work with Nirvana, Foo, and Queens of the Stone Age.

These artists won't all get in, and I'm not advocating, but here are some names that pop out at me from the next eight years of http://www.futurerocklegends.com/future_eligibles.php :

2010: Flaming Lips, Indigo Girls, LL Cool J, My Bloody Valentine
2011: Eric B. & Rakim, Guided by Voices, Guns N' Roses, Kool Moe Dee, Salt N Pepa, They Might Be Giants
2012: George Michael, Goo Goo Dolls, Henry Rollins, Jane's Addiction, N.W.A., Public Enemy, The Pixies, Sinead O'Conner, Soundgarden
2013: Melissa Etheridge, Nirvana, the Offspring, Phish
2014: Barenaked Ladies, Garth Brooks, Green Day, Lenny Kravitz, Nine Inch Nails, Pavement, Queen Latifah, Sarah McLachlan, Tom Petty
2015: Alice in Chains, the Black Crowes, Blur, Ice Cube, Mariah Carey, Moby, Smashing Pumpkins
2016: 2Pac, Alanis Morissette, Boyz II Men, Pearl Jam, Seal, Tori Amos
