Yeah this is par for the course for Sterling.

I just don't get why there isn't resistance from high end players or coaches. I know you can say "well there is all the money" but if you are a high profile player/coach you are getting paid wherever you go.

I love that guys like Baron Davis get paid a buttload and then half-ass it for him, it is an elegant solution to the problem.

But Chris Paul and Doc Rivers? There is just no excuse.

Remember Sterling is 80 and lived when segregation was government law. He was born into it. Fining sterling for being rascist would be like fining waiters for being born black. I don't know of anyone who hates stronger than the elderly.

Donald "Sterling" probably experienced his share of personal and institutional racism as a child and an adult. It's likely why he decided to change his name to hide his Jewish ancestry. How disgraceful.

But to say he was "born" into segregation is nonsense. Donald Tokowitz was born in Chicago, Illinois - a state that has never practiced segregation but did have institutionalize red lining. He later moved to California as a child, a state that hasn't practiced segregation since the end of the first World War.

But to say Sterling lived in a segregated environment isn't true. He didn't.

I don't know why you keep bringing up his last name being changed. What does that have anything to do with anything? Hell, we can all read Wikipedia.

Regardless of when or where you were born, an 80 year old man should be wise enough to judge people based on their individual character. Period.

Prejudicing someone based on the actions of others or some other generalized stereotype is wrong. Whether it is gender, skin color, sexual orientation, etc. We are all individuals in this world. We all make mistakes. But to be 80 fucking years old and not realize this life lesson (probably the most important life lesson ever) is a fucking disgrace. Hate is hate. Rationalizing it because of some weak circumstances (read: ignorance) is no excuse.

I always laugh when people use the age of someone as to why they dislike certain races/genders/sexual orientations.

Apparently, the Clippers held a player only meeting about Sterling's comments late last night.

Isn't Sterling Jewish? He was a teenager during the Holocaust in WWII. Of all people, the guy should realize what prejudice against a group of people can lead to.

I think the name change is very relevant. Considering how dominant the Jews have been in commerce essentially being god and immigrating and building the world with their greater knowledge many other groups were jealous of them and hated them. The guy hides his heritage. He tells his girlfriend not to broadcast and he certainly doesn't. He's not a hypocrite. The founding fathers of the u.s. Also changed their names to hide their identities and also their heritage .
