Texans' Record Watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Browns have had zero luck with getting other teams picks that they've traded for with previous regimes, inasmuch as they're never as high as you'd expect.

The reality is that nobody is banking on the Texans being a 3-4 win team ie a top 5 pick. We're probably expecting a 5-6 win team at the VERY worst and if all goes well, a 12 win team.

So I think it's safe to say this isn't the Bills pick where we were banking on a top 5 pick from go.

The reality is...a lot of us are building some confidence in this FO and when you have a shitload of picks, you make them well and you coach the players properly...a #5 pick probably isn't much better than a #20 pick.

I'm far more concerned about the Browns than the Texans and I have a bizarre feeling that they nailed this draft and that regardless of where this Texans pick lands, they'll nail that pick too.

According to simple pythagorean expectation Houston was a 6.5 win team last year.

If you look at estimated wins (which factors in a league average schedule among other things) they performed as a 4.5 win team.

The Texans really benefited from going 5-1 in their division last year which will be tough to repeat. So there's a fair amount of data to suggest that the 9 wins may have been an outlier, especially if you believe the division improved.

WINNER.

Agreed with everything you said. I am less concerned with where the pick falls. I am most concerned with what we do with the pick. If there is a can't-miss guy we want, we have the most picks in the draft to package. If there isn't a can't-miss prospect, we still have the most holes to fill with those picks.

Jax - Win
Cinci - Win
Pats - Loss
Titans - Loss
Chiefs - Loss
Browns - Win
Bye
Seattle - Loss
Indi - Toss up
Rams - Win
Cardinals - Loss
Ravens - Toss up
Titans - Loss
49ers - Win
Jags - Win
Pitt - Loss
Colts - Toss up

That is based off of Super Bowl odds, as of today.

6-7 w/3 toss-up games (same exact SB odds)

Now, as others have said, anything can freakin' happen. It's the NFL. They will win some of those "Loss" games and lose some of those "Win" games. They could win all "Toss up" games or lose all of them.

With that, I am going to say we will get their pick anywhere between 14-25 :chuckle:
Bro....

It's the difference between an additional 1st round pick and probably then some when trading from 5 to 20

It's also a significantly better trade chip if we do indeed try to move up next year

I also want to note that the last time the oi believed in one of the Cleveland teams is after game 4 of the World Series so this is not a good omen

I also never doubted the Cavs championship team and remained confident in the Indians throughout the playoffs.

Just because that was the "last" time I believed in a Clevelans team doesn't mean it was the only time. That loss was on Shaw and @bushwick_bill, who's negativity rivals yours.

I wouldn't have to be negative if people would stop saying there is little difference between the 5th and 20th pick in the draft

I was also one of the very few who said we would win after down 3-1. I'm not a negative poster ya schill

Anyone that was confident that the Indians would beat Lester, Hendricks, and Arrietta wasn't paying attention. Possible yes, confident? No way.

Having said that, I also think Houston will suck.

There was no reason to believe they'd beat the shit out of Boston or go up 3-1 either.

I don't knee-jerk.

Raptors in 5.
