The 2014 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Bring on the kids !

Such a big disappointment with Bourn and Swish, its only going to get worse it seems.

Suddenly I am not opposed to the return of steroids. The Clear would do wonders for Swish's knee.

I feel like this season is a waste. Brantly & Gomes are playing well, both are top 10 in WAR. Kluber is top 5 in most notable pitching categories, and will probably finish 2nd or 3rd in CY Young voting. Still no signs of Lindor or other high prospects. Its hard to get excited about this team, knowing that the 3 players above cannot be expected to repeat this season every year.

We don't need those 3 to repeat this season, we need more of the other 27 guys on the team to step up.

Why can't we expect those guys to maintain a similar level of production? They are in their primes, right? Even if you won't concede that, we have other guys who have under-performed that will only be better moving forward.

Alot to work with, and hardly a wasted season. Disappointing based upon how they came into the year and considering how the vets have done, but not a lost cause and certainly nowhere near as bad as 90% of the expansion Browns seasons. But I am digressing, so back to point: this club has alot to work with here. The starting pitching woes will continue but they have the last two months to sort through the infield and find what they need. No one thought last year they would turn Kazmir and Ubaldo into not only useful guys but top quality starters. Going to be interesting as usual to see what happens. They almost have to swing some trades with the 40-man situatiions coming up.

On this date last season, we were 4 games out of a Wild Card spot.

Today we are 5 games out and 5.5 out of the Central. Season is certainly not over.

While that's true, we needed an epic September to even qualify for the Wild Card last year. The season is likely over...I just don't see any way we can even make the Wild Card with this pitching staff.

When it comes to pitching and catching, the Tribe is a small step up from the Bad News Bears.

.500 baseball generates little buzz.

One more thing that bothers me. How likely is Very anders to underperform again next season?

Not major news by any means, but I read on Rotoworld that Frank Herrmann was released by the club on August 10th after having a rough year in Columbus following Tommy John.
