Agree, A Cab should be the first to go, he may fetch something in a trade, if Lindor isn't deemed ready we can use Avilis at short
The idea is to improve the play at SS, not make it worse.
Lindor is not ready. The bat has been solid but the defense has been about average. He can do better and he has work to do. I would not be shocked if he spends the whole year at AA.
I'm leaning right now towards keeping him and seeing what happens. I know people freak out every time he doesn't drive in the run but Cleveland baseball fans have proven their irrationality time and again. He has been a solid contributor at SS and I think the potential 1st round pick he would garner is worth more than what they may get in trade. And if he accepts the qualifying offer? Fine. Like I said, Lindor is not ready. Another year of Asdrubal might not be such a bad in that scenario.
You can have A Cab if the idea is swing at the first pitch a lot and leave men on base. I'll take Lindor now. Seems to me that Ross Adkins and Tito said in spring training that he was ready defensively. I'll take their word for it. Trade A Cab and get what you can now
If you're wasting your time looking at errors, you'd think he's not ready.
But he is, he's already got better range there. Better natural instincts and hustle to be sure.
He just needs to hit, everything else is ready.

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/...royals-rios-twins-willingham-cards-peavy.htmlThere was some action on the shortstop front for the Indians today, as starter Asdrubal Cabrera left the game with lower back spasms, per Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer (via Twitter). That would appear to be a minor injury, but the news coincided with the club’s decision to promote top prospect (and fellow shortstop) Francisco Lindor to Triple-A, as Hoynes tweets. Cleveland has indicated, however, that the move was unrelated. Of course, Cabrera has often been mentioned as a trade candidate — at season’s end if not at this year’s deadline — due in large part to the continued rise of Lindor, his presumed successor.
