Your friend is the Pyro of Pirates fans. Filler that the Tribe had to deal for b/c Morgan is still hurt, I don't think Moncrief is on the 40-man, neither is Holt and Tyler Naquin just broke his hand. Surprised he is already in the lineup, figured we would barely see him.

Indians were 1 back in the Central and 3.5 back of the Wild Card one year ago today

Indians are 8 back in the Central and 4 back (3.5 with a Royals loss) in the Wild Card.

So, really, the division is a long ways away... they'd have to play some incredible baseball, but the Wild Card is well within reach.

They need a jolt for the starting pitching. Masterson isn't turning it around and gone to the DL. Bauer is pitching well and Kluber has done a very good job. But beyond those two, just not enough. They need McAlister to keep up what he did on Saturday. Really, what they need is for Salazar to get called back up and repeat what he did last year. I just don't see that happening, however. A real uphill battle with the way the starting pitching has gone.

Yeah. This is a .500 team through and through. We're not making the playoffs unless we make a trade for another quality starter, and if we're not going to do that it doesn't make sense to just stand pat and remain a .500 team. Might as well shop Asdrubal and see what can be had for him.

You well remember that they had to play incredible baseball just to finish the season last year to get in. We have seen some good signs on this homestand on players like Swisher turning it around, now Kipnis and Masty need to get going, but I am not expecting much from Masty
