There's many good, knowledgeable laker fans on the site but the LeBron fetish over there is really quite comical. I mean posts that don't even deal with LeBron somehow end up with his name all in their mouths. I post often over there and even when you try to have a decent conversation at times about LeBron, it quickly goes downhill.

I really don't understand the burning hatred that Kobe/Lakers homers have for LeBron/the Cavs. The two teams aren't even in the same conference. At least Boston and LA have a huge history together. Cavs and Lakers? None.

I don't get it. Maybe a Lakers fan could elaborate and tell us?

Either way, we can laugh at them and their gazillion championships I guess.

edit: I liked that one guy's post, "LeBron has exactly ONE game winner" when James actually had two...last year alone.

I think Laker fans feel LeBron is eventually going to compromise Kobe's place in history, and that rubs them the wrong way.. I think many believe it's inevitable..

When I was at UCLA, Vince Carter hit the scene hard, and that was two or three seasons after Kobe had all the Jordan comparisons... Laker fans hated Vince Carter and his hype... They then really hated Tracy McGrady hard...They hated Wade pretty hard a couple seasons back...

It's not just LeBron, it's whomever encroaches upon Kobe's territory in terms of all time greats... When all is said and done, I think Kobe will be behind LeBron substantially.. But, that shouldn't be a bad thing for Kobe or his fans..

A lot of people in general hate Bron because of how much hype he's received ever since he entered the NBA. Of course, those people probably don't know how it's like for their team to have one star and the rest of the roster to be subpar at best for most of that guy's career.

But I've seen plenty of posts here that at least have respect for Kobe's game and keep it real when talking about him..

Most of the time when people are bad mouthing him here, it's about his off the court past..

Some Laker fans actually go out of their way, it seems (even doughboy stated), to bash LeBron both on & off the court

I think it's funny how a lot of Laker fans are so convinced that Boston is far superior to the Cavs in the East. The guys on the Celtics could each be 50 years old and Laker fans would still think they're better than the Cavs. It something I see not only on LakersGround, but also on a music forum that I post on. The forum has a Sports section and most of the people are Laker fans. There's this one little bitch named lakeshow24 who pisses the hell out of me. He's only like 17 and doesn't know shit about sports, yet talks so much shit about the Lakers and calls our city a shithole. EDIT: I'm not trying to promote another site, I'm just pointing out the tendencies of Laker fans that piss me off.

It's basically a fraternity of champions...

For example, (on a different level) if our fan base was talking LeBron, and the Heat fan base was talking Wade, we can have a discussion... But, if Nugget fans started chirping about Melo, and what he's done, both group of fan bases would look at the Nugget guy like "shut the **** up"

Laker fans talk about Boston because Boston won the title a couple years ago and knocked them off... Celtic fans talk about the Lakers because they beat them in the finals, and they're the current champs..

Cavs and Magic fans kinda get looked at as the annoying little brother... It's about respect and what has been accomplished...
