The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread (includes spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well I hope Euron killed her. I've got her in our death pool.

Why would he keep the main opponent to his throne alive?

Which one is the "prize" he's bringing for Cersei?

I don't think Euron cares about the Iron Islands anymore. He wants to be Cersei's king of the 7 kingdoms.

So what the fuck is hurling the giant ass fireballs? That seems like a pretty neato weapon that everyone should try and get their hands on.

.

Was wondering the same. Like, boy, what an awfully convenient unseen weapon to have.

Well, just three episodes ago in Season 6 we saw an entire fleet of fireball-hurling ships, of the Slave Cities, sieging Meereen by sea. My guess is something like that.

Also, if they were trying to show Theon as reverting to Reek/coward form, then they could have done it better. Really, him escaping was probably the best move. He wasn't beating Euron as everyone else said, and he would have killed Asha too most likely.

Perhaps they only apply the poison when they know they're about to fight? Seems like it'd be dangerous to just walk around with it always applied.

I know in the books Martin made a point before the duel between Oberyn and the Mountain to mention that Oberyn's squire (or someone) was oiling his blade.

Makes sense.

The show had this as well.

I like how GRRM acts like he's dropping us a nugget by saying The Winds of Winter might be out in 2018. What a fucktard.

The thing on Euron, and I could end up being totally wrong, is that the books give off hints that he has some sort of power. His covered eye is rumored to be this red/black eye. He makes comments about being the storm. There are prophecies and whispers about his seemingly unnatural ability to win naval battles. He told his brother he was the drowned god. There are theories that he can warg into peoples minds, like Bran, and that he did ut to one of his brothers. Now, he could be talking shit, but I dont think so.

So when think about the episode last night, how Euron was able to so easily win....think about what he did.

He picked them off in the middle of the ocean, in the middle of the night, sailing to Dorne. Generally speaking naval battles almost never happen at night because they'd too difficult to navigate.

So it makes sense Yaras men were totally unprepared. But why was Euron? Well, again, I think its more than him just being a badass. Think he has some supernatural help.

Now that's all theory. And the show not giving him an eyepatch to cover his black/red eye, and not making his brother that he tortured in some way or another a character at all might mean the show isn't gonna turn him into some type of magical force. Or maybe it means he's just a cool motherfucker in the books and I'm reading too much into it and the show is cutting th dead weight.

But last nights battle and what he did makes me think they are still gonna reveal why it is he's so special.

Damn. Euron was finally terrifying for once.

Did not see Theon going all Reek coming. Disappointed. Makes me wonder where his story is going.

Goodness, is there any position you'd want to be in less than Ellaria Sand on her way to visit Cersei after killing Myrcella? Yeah, no. Thankfully her and the Sand Snakes really are awful people and need to die, glad it looks like that is going to occur.

As for the rest, meh. More setup. Sam removing Jorah's greyscale though. Yeesh. I was cringing and praying for that to end.

But what was he realistically supposed to do? If he charged her, Euron and his men kill them both. Even if he somehow killed Euron, they'd both be dead instantly.

It was the smarter/although seemingly wimpy option, to just jump in the water, and live to at least have a chance.

Maybe he did go Reek, but still think there's a chance he might end up redeeming himself for that. Not sure though. I don't think it mattered though.

Euron would have easily killed both of them.

Well, the point of the way the scene was shot was that Theon was reverting to Reek again. He saw the crazy in Euron's eyes and politely shat himself and ran away. Yeah, it may have been the smart move (although nothing was really stopping Euron from just having some archers kill shoot him while he was in the water...I just think he didn't give enough of a shit to), but it was still him being weak. The Theon of old would have charged Euron and either killed him or died in the effort.
