The Paul George Safari: LeBron Strikes Back!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Actually think Indy made out well in the end if reports are to be believed. Oladipo is getting paid, but he can be a productive guy for Indy, especially with more shots being available. Also you get to pair Sabonis with Turner in the front court.
I know he was a Rookie last year, but Sabonis was Hot Garbage. Of course he can improve, but last year wasn't a good look for his future.

Its ridiculous really.

People also don't consider just what defeating this Warriors team would do to his legacy.

If he loses, it hardly does anything to his legacy. But if he wins......

The upside is insanely high!

Every one of the great players that's played the game, had a much easier path to their titles in comparison, and didn't play against the competition LeBron did.

Think about it. LeBron's expected series win percentage was 37%, and that's not factoring in the last two seasons alone, which would drop it much lower. And he's had 3 titles out of that.

That's not only good, that's incredible! Jordan's expected win percentage was 69%, Duncan, 70%, Kobe, 71%.

To have such a low chance, in your career of winning in the finals, and have 3 titles, speaks to his dominance.

Larry Bird, with 3 titles, had 61% chance.

LeBron haters that are either stupid, ignorant, or people with just simple minds that can't think beyond simple numbers -- will always use his finals record to undermine him.

But those people don't warrant serious debate/discussion anyways. So, I could care less what they think.

LeBron is the greatest of all-time, IMHO. And this ring narrative is so dumb when discussing who is the best.

Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant never came close to having to face what LB has.

If LeBron was in Kobe's spot, he'd have 8 championships.

Some of you listen to the Stephen A. Smith's and Skip Bayless' of sports talk too much. These guys are idiots.

So, going to the finals, and losing, is a worse accomplishment than getting beat in the earlier rounds?

What kind of logic is that?

LeBron has nothing to lose, at all. He's already placed himself as a top-3 player of all-time.

Even ESPN, the hyperbole -- knee-jerk reaction program placed him in the top-4 before he won a title here.

And his expected win percentage in the finals (this is before the last years alone), is lower than all of the greats.

In fairness to @K1rieIrving>AllOtherPG's

Its not like LeBron didn't say this

He was obviously frustrated then. But don't tell me you would rather want to get knocked out early in playoffs than have a chance, albeit how small it is to win the Championship in the NBA Finals!

This is where I am with it too. I'd much rather get to the finals where anything can happen. Durant turns an ankle this past season and who knows what happens with the series.

You're not factoring the mental and physical drain of going through a couple of months of the playoffs....only to get smoked in the finals.

No matter how easy its still taxing on his body and mind just to get there.

I personally don't think LeBron is leaving. I don't think he would want to miss out on going to the finals either. The question for LeBron is would he rather play the best team after 2 months of the playoffs or would he rather face them earlier/when he's fresher. He probably physically can play 47 mins a night against GS in the 2nd round than he could in the finals.

Again don't think he's leaving, but I'm not going to underestimate his comments after his 4th finals loss and expect it'll blow over if he has a 6th finals loss as well.

By that logic whats to say Durant doesn't turn an ankle in the 2nd round as well?
The bad luck for us the last couple of years is that the Warriors injuries have happened before the finals, but they get healthy just in time for the finals.

Curry got hurt early in the playoffs in 2015 and 2016. Durant was dealing with issues in the first round and didn't look quite like himself until the WCF.

Again LeBron is not leaving imo. However, I still don't get this idea that we can dismiss the possibility that he could leave.

Lebron won't leave but has no chance of winning another title. He'll get to finals every year but has 0% chance to win title. Warriors will win it for next 3 -5 years. We are signing no one and have been linked with JOSE CALDERON. hahahha. Laughable. Next season is pointless. Coast through a bad bad bad eastern conference until finals and lose 4-0 , 4-1

kD has changed the NBA but we've had chances to make moves. But haven't taken the chances so have cost us a chance at a great chance of a title. Fuming

Just to clarify, I don't agree with this line of thinking, I think its more impressive going as far as you can compared to be taken out in the 1st or 2nd round, unfortunately this is not how gen pop and most media members and casual fans think, & they drive the consensus.

Even LeBron has said that sometimes he thinks he'd rather not even make the playoffs than lose in the finals again, can you really blame him? getting to top and getting smacked by better teams is so frustrating.

C'mon man!

Its frustrating but don't lose hope yet.

The issue for Cavs fans is that some still can't factor in his time in Miami.
4 taxing years. 2 bad losses in the finals.
Can't sweep that time under the rug. He's older and in a way more impulsive.
Just gotta hope we get some lucky breaks a long the way next year.

I think he'd definitely leave if we find ourselves in a Miami situation with no way of improving. Why I'd absolutely grudge this is because it's partially his fault we can't improve. TT and JR could have been valuable trade assets on bargain contracts if they had taken a few mil less
