The Trump Administration (just Trump) Thread

I think this is all probably fair analysis.

The Saudis and Chinese should be case studies in how to get Trump to like you. They really laid out the red carpet (China did quite literally).

Still, even if it is not explicitly his grand strategy, I find it really dangerous. I was irritated when Obama eased on America's alliance networks, but Trump is taking it to an extreme, and I do not see this ending well.

They have teams of psychologists working on the approach but it is super simple:

He has NPD. You appeal to his ego. 85% of the decisions he makes in life stem from whether his ego has been stroked or not. People like that are easy to flatter but they make impulsive and generally poor decisions. They're erratic.

I wouldn't say it is Trump's strategy. It may be someone's but the man himself is incapable of thinking in those terms.

Maybe it's the combination of the words "strategy" and "Trump" you find off-putting, but the point being made by @jking948 was pretty basic: Trump is a nationalist, not an internationalist. I think setting that general course is certainly within Trump's capabilities.

Flattery or insults can impact his tweets, but the basic overall course of behaviors of the Administration seems pretty consistent with that worldview.

FAKEST NEWS YET: WHITE HOUSE ACCUSED OF NOT BAKING A PIE
The liberal media is suffering from a serious credibility issue in the Age of Trump, mostly because their coverage ranges from outright lies to ridiculous bullshit. This falls well within that spectrum and yet still manages to stick out as the dumbest thing yet concerning the Trump administration. A White House correspondent is accusing Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders of falsifying a pie. Yes, a f*cking pie.

This started out on Thanksgiving with Sanders tweeting this very non-controversial and inoffensive thing:

Looked through the comments and they’re petty af but pretty hilarious. Same shit that would happen on here if I posted a picture of a fake pork shoulder I claimed I smoked.

WTF is she thinking nabbing that off of google images instead of just posting a picture of herself smiling with the goddamn pie if she really made it? And if she DIDN’T make it...ask for a good recipe and make it a contest.

Only thing I can come up with is that she’s saying that’s the recipe she used.

Why give the trolls a chance?

Gee, what do you suppose would have been the response if Michelle Obama had tweeted a picture of a pie she claimed to have baked, and a member of the White House press corps had called her a liar?

I love Trump's tweets. CNN would win in a landslide. It wouldn't even be fair.
Yes, this country needs a FAKE NEWS contest! This is what makes us GREAT AGAIN! Thank you, Great Leader! We LOVE our favorite President (Trump)!

We need to table the debate on psych evals for gun owners and have them for holders of public office.

Michelle had a habit of lying every day right?

Yeah, regardless if it is Trump's strategy, that of others in his admin, or some combo, there is a "grand strategy" there. It may be good, I think it's bad, but either way, it exists.

Gee, we would know the answer if it actually happened. Only one person was dumb enough to take a stock photo and put it out as something they made.

She baked a pie from a recipe, and uploaded the recipe picture of the pie to illustrate what she'd baked. For a member of the White House press corps - as opposed to a member of the public who might be feeling a bit snarky - to deem that worthy of making a public statement is a joke.
