The Victor Oladipo Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah I was really just pointing out how our team is on the rise and the Magic are on a downward spiral. Wasn't making any references to all-time winning % or anything.

down ward spiral? they already bottomed out.

They are building from here.

I really dont care what Victor meant by his statement. he could of very well just said I like orlando i think it was a good fit for me. but he didnt . so on to the shit list Victor. some good ole fashion Cleveland hate will teach him an invaluable lesson !

I expected to see this thread get a lot of activity after last night. Oladipo looked really good. I agree with the sentiment of moving him over to point guard gradually, I think he's going to become an absolute force there. Overall, I was really impressed by his feel for the game last night. He had some turnovers, but his jumper looked very smooth and his explosiveness is as advertised. I think he has the tools to be physcially as good as a guy like Westbrook and his jumper is already as good if not better from deep.

This guy is going to be quite good.

It was an asshole statement. No need to apologize Victor. You can go fuck yourself. We know what you really meant. Stand by what you say you ass face.

I agree with some of what you said, but I don't see the bold portion being true. Westbrook is markedly quicker, with a level of explosiveness that is rivaled by few. Despite not being too judicious with the ball, Westbrook is also a dramatically better ball-handler and has a devastating spin move. I also have serious doubts about Oladipo's shooting ability right now, but we'll see that play out.

It might be worth noting that I'm probably the biggest Westbrook fan on RCF and as a result, I may be a bit biased.

The one thing Dipo that really impressed me with was his ability to stay within the flow of the offense. Something russel has never managed instead opting for missing foul line jumpers. I was shocked how easy waiters was able to blow by him though thought he was supposed to be a great individual defender

Re: The Victor Oladipo Tread

Oladipo is not a PG.

I love Oladipo ..but, I also believe they are pushing the envelope too fast in transitioning him to PG immediately. .. I'd make his transition a tiered process over the course of 3-4 seasons..

Why make him a PG at all: it's a position with abundant talent in the NBA. He just seems like a natural SG out there. I suspect it's a nice way to tank w/o being obvious about it. Get your franchise players some time refining some skills he needs to work on and lose more games along the way.

I think you're absolutely correct here. It provides Oladipo a chance to develop his shoddy ball-handling and improve as a passer while only making the Magic even worse. And despite the sports media's penchant for the "it's a point guard driven league" phrase, it's really not. The league is "driven" by good management and coaching, and elite players (regardless of position).

This preseason Victor Oladipo was the only top 10 pick to post a 20 per. Last preseason the only top 10 pick to post a 20 per? Andre Drummond.

He is going to be very good and a lot of people are going to look very silly comparing his ceiling to Tony Allen. Let's hope Dion really develops because it could be very painful watching Oladipo turn into a top flight 2 guard.

they are making him play pg because you know hes famous for his handle and court vision

His handles are much better than people give him credit for. This is exactly what im talking about when I said nobody updated their scouting report on him from his soph year. His passing is also pretty decent, but he shouldn't be a pg.

I hope I'm wrong, but the Cavaliers may really regret passing on him. Let me pose this question - would the Cavs be better long-term had they selected Barnes over Waiters and Oladipo over Bennett?

C-Varejao
PF-Thomspon
SF-Barnes
SG-Oladipo
PG-Irving

They'd be in even better shape if they took Drummond and Oladipo.
