Trade Deadline - Feb 8 at 3:00 EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was never much interested in trading TT for Jordan since I don't think it moves the needle much against the Warriors, but...

I'm ready to make the move, as long as it doesn't take the Brooklyn pick.

He'll add desperately needed defensive to the paint. He may not be able o defend the perimeter how TT did a few seasons ago, but we're not getting that from TT anymore anyway.

He'll also take some of the rebounding burden off of our older wing players.

I also think they can pair Hill with Rose for stretches with teams that have two quick guards. Like against the wizards with Wall and Beal, where Wade might not be able to keep up for long stretches.

Rose is a complete bum. He shouldn’t even be playing.

George Hill's 2017-2018 Defensive Rating per 100 possessions - 114
JR Smith's 2017-2018 Defensive Rating per 100 possessions - 114

Well, George Hill is playing on a bad team. Right?

Uh...the Cavs....are kind of a bad team...

Jordan is reportedly trying to get traded to Houston according to SAS who usually has decent sources (his LA sources aside).

Your argument is spoiled by a simple fact: we have 0 chance to land those names.
If they'd been achievable for our firepower, we would have already taken one of them last summer. No way. PG and Boogie are keeping the doors open for free agency, their teams are making the playoffs and they still have a good chance of improvement before the trade deadline.

Are OKC and Pels going to be sellers at the trade deadline? Let's assume that. Other team have a better combo of picks and young talent than us (f.i. Boston, LA, Philly). What do we have? A great pick (Brooklyn), a good expiring (Schump) and a decent young talent (Osman).
Kevin Love weakness are exposed, as well as TT and IT's. They are no two-way players (TT a role player), championships are won at the defensive end of the floor. KL could be an all-star but will kill both OKC and the Pels, they aren't going to need him. Three way trade? Good luck with that. IT is an expiring monodimensional player in a league stacked with great PG. TT, as said before, is not more than a second unit role player.

Let's face it. Superstars are out of reach FOREVER. Kyrie was our last chance to get them and we made a choice. I can't say that was a bad one, we got a lot, but no superstars were among them. A great all star scorer, a good 3D forward and a great pick. But no superstars. Could we turn back time, pack again the scorer, the forward and the pick and go and get a true superstar? We'll run in circle.

The best players available within our reach are those names popping up in trade rumors.

George Hill is a good name. I'd rather have Evans but they both are clear upgrade at the 2 spot. Lou Williams is not needed. I'm not sold on DJ, as I stated before, but I'm ready to chance my mind. Gasol is by far the best player, if available.

Keeping Lebron for 2019 may not require adding another superstar by the 2018 NBA Finals. This summer after the trade deadline the Cavs will have a better chance to either add a superstar or draft a potential superstar with the Nets pick. To Lebron, that unknown has got to be better than trading the Nets pick for anyone other than George or Cousins and locking in a roster with a ceiling that he knows is too low to beat the Warriors.

This is sadly correct, except I am much closer to believing it was a bad choice.

We could have traded Kyrie for a superstar at any point in the last year, a year when at least four major superstars (Paul, Cousins, George, Butler) moved teams and more might have, but we never did. Now, unless some other team inexplicably rescues us from our hellish cap situation, the chance at those kind of players is gone.

Kevin Love is an NBA Champion and our best success this year came with him as the #2 option.

The Cavs will be a terrible tanking franchise soon enough. I still say we can win one more title in the next 4 years with a little luck.

@Mr. Orange- Why are you BLUE?

Kyrie for Jimmy Butler would have made us a much better team.

Trading Kyrie to our closest competitor for a diminutive, injured scorer, a washed-up “3-and-D” guy, a Euro-project center, and a middling lottery pick was pure craziness.

But, in the end, none of it probably matters, since KD and his huge, flapping vagina, broke the league.

Agreed, except I would say it does matter, since we could have still been a reasonable underdog to the Warriors. Take last year's team with Kyrie, add Jeff Green and a healthy DWade, and last year's Finals probably goes to six games. Then imagine the front office is actually smart for once and adds someone like Tyreke Evans to our team to be our SG. Or makes some other smart acquisition. Then we have a puncher's chance against GS. It looks like we are in a lot worse situation now.

Houston would be a terrible fit for him lol they only play Capela 19-20 mins a game because they prefer a shooter there

I'm all for DeAndre as long as it includes TT and not the Brooklyn pick. I have zero interest in Lou, the last thing we need is another guard who can score but is terrible defensively.

Kemba>>> Hill. He is younger and better defender.
