Same contact who told me Cavs would be heavily involved in PG13 trade talks after Warriors series (he told me after game 2 of finals), said he's hearing there is a lot of chatter around the Hornets right now.
They're desperate to rid themselves of Batum's deal, and willing to package Kemba to make that happen. Dwight is on the block as well. He thinks the Cavs make at least one move with Charlotte, but think it could evolve into a multi-player blockbuster.
Something where Kemba, Batum, and Dwight all come to CLE, for a mix of expiring deals and assets.
I always thought Dwight would be red-lighted based on past history, but now I'm starting to think it's one of the Cavs only options for an elite defensive rim protector, and I guess, as my former manager said, they brought Dwight's best friend in Deron Williams last year, and while Williams was inconsistent, he actually fit in OK. Deron Williams and Dwight were hated by Paul, Wade, Melo, and Bron on the Olympic team back in 2004. Griffin ran the idea of bringing Williams into the lockerroom by LeBron who "okay'd" it.
Anyways, I'm starting to think a major roster overhaul is on the docket....
Personally, I'd really like to see CLE let Isaiah work himself back into game shape and see what they have, but if they aren't willing to go down that path, I'd be OK, with something like:
IT3, JR, TT, Shumpert and at least one of our 1st rd picks, for Kemba, Batum, and Dwight.
Our starting 5 turns into:
Dwight
Love
LeBron
Batum
Kemba
2nd primary rotation:
Wade
Korver
Crowder
Green
Frye
We'll see......I'm kinda piecing together some info with what would logically make sense. Hornets would rid themselves of Batum's horrible deal, while Cavs rid themselves of Shump, JR, and TT. Bringing in IT3, gives Hornets a chance to retructure next year, with expiring deals to move. It hurts Clevelands flexibility going forward though.
