Trade the 8th pick? Where? Why? How?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Id be surprised if they did it. I would think they would want us to take on even more salary than just Batum in that trade. Might have to take on MKG which I think would hurt or Marvin Williams which I wouldn't mind, then add Korver to the deal. I'd do it though because #11 could net us another piece or upgrade over Love.

Kupchak is the guy who signed Mozgov and also saw Dwight leave for Houston, so that trade is not a surprise. Seems like he’s trying to compete while also getting the books in order. If that’s the case, you would figure he tries to shed the contracts of Batum and/or MKG. It’s also unlikely he will want to pay Walker, so a cheap, rookie PG may be attractive to them.

I think Hornets are in play. I think the Spurs would be in play if you had a good enough asset & I think the Raptors are in play to blow it up.

So how I would attempt to make it all work:
1. Batum/Walker/Leonard/Bryn Forbes/CJ Miles to Cleveland
2. Hill/Korver/D.White/B.Paul to Hornets
3. DeRozen to Spurs
4. K-Love/JR/D.Murray/#8 (Shai-G) to Raps

Hornets: I free them of Batum deal and get them some half hearted young guys. This is a salary dump though. The key is just how much Batum's deal stinks on those Charlotte books.

Spurs: This is obvious, under control top flight NBA guard for disgruntled Leonard

Raps: Per Marc Stein Draft scuttle: Hearing Toronto is exploring all of its trade options in hopes of assembling a deal to acquire a draft pick high enough to select Kentucky's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. "We got an All Star and a top 10 pick for DeRozen" ... (at least that will be the sell job on Toronto's side)

Cavs: obvious. Leonard and Walker re-boot the now long, switch-y Cavs roster. James moves to the penultimate stretch 4 and Golden State has their hands full. (and I get to see Bryn Forbes back in a "Cleveland" jersey, state of or city of)

PG Walker
SG Batum
F Leonard
F James
C TT
Bench: CJ, Bryn, Nance, Osman, Clarkson

Tax Bill: enough to fund a new franchise overseas.. seriously, that's a ton of Dan Gilbert's money

As always: once James re-signs, Gilbert will have to build a monument outside of the Q prior to pre-season. Don't underrate this move.

I really think this is the key to everything. It's clear we have the flexibility to make some moves to get a legitimate supporting cast, but its all coming down to how much of a tax bill is Dan willing to pay. I mean, Parsons (with #4 pick) and Batum (with Kemba) have got to be there for the taking. What's the number, Dan? $75 million? $100 million? $200 million (yes, this is a legit number)?

IT looks like Ayton and Doncic are going 1 & 2. 3-10 sound like they're all interchangeable. I've seen Bamba go from 3 to 8. Trae go from 4 to 11. Bridges go from 3 to 12. It's insane. I don't even know who the Cavs would think of drafting at this point. There has to be like a million ITTT scenarios.

i am hoping porter goes before 8 Back surgery at 19 ?
Who ever gets better after a back surgery ? Does anyone know if/can cavs have him at the clinic for a look pre-draft

So SA is giving up Kawhi and Murray just to name a few for DeRozan?... They aren't trading Murray no way in any deal with Kawhi

Well that's very simple...If you feel Lebron is gone, then you don't trade the pick!!!

I feel you do what is best for your franchise moving forward. How do you make trades and not even have a clue what he is going to do ? I am not for trading all assets for rentals and then hope he is happy with it

We got our championship, lets make moves that help bring him back but also do not mortgage the future

And then we get KD and AD both on buyouts. Superteam here we come.

Tough to make moves without knowing if LBJ is coming back or not. Would love for him to announce he's staying for the max and retiring here. Tired of everyone trying to talk him into leaving to their teams..WTF!

Raptors Trade: DeRozen and CJ Miles
Raptors Receive: Kevin Love/DeJounte Murray/#8

That is a little generous even if JR's contract is added. DeRozen does not have anywhere close to that value. Murray was All-NBA 2nd team member by the way. That's without even looking at Cleveland's unrealistic return
