Truth And Rumors (trade deadline talk)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Okc should have been looking for deals to help them win a title

Why are they stockpiling picks?? Are they still rebuilding??

They know this team isn't beating the heat

They are basically conceding the season as another loss

And there are 30 other teams who wish they were OKC who will not make the Finals. Sometimes being really good, but not quite good enough, is the best you can do.

And OKC has realized the truth of the matter, draft picks are more important now than ever. You need to fill out your roster with guys who are cheap now. You do that best by drafting wisely and filling out your roster with guys on rookie deals.

How many first round picks do we need? We've collected a stockpile. It's time to look at pieces to add, and maybe 1 more superstar in 2014.

Those making fun of MSB for her last tweet:

Deals can still be announced after the 3:00 deadline, so her saying the Cavs have done nothing isn't as obvious as you're making it out to be.

I've seen other teams' beat writers tweet the same thing about their teams, and even national writers tweet something similar.

Or they think they're good enough to beat them as is and want to continue to compile assets as they compete for a ring.. I highly doubt one of the league's best teams is "conceding" the season..

this makes zero sense. what moves were they supposed to make? they can't force someone to take perkins off their hands, or trade them someone of value for a pile of scraps on the bench. they took a guy that was getting 10 minutes per game on the year, and is now buried on the bench for a 1st round pick. nothing more.

It just never seemed like the wheels were greased enough this year for trades to happen. I think teams are all pretty cautious about their future flexibility.

Pretty much what I expected, though I did think one of Boobie or Casspi would get traded. Off season should be a fun one.

Basically doing what we're doing. They're smart, unlike the Lakers. Just because you're contending, doesn't make draft picks any less meaningful. It's the dumb teams that throw them away like they're nothing that live to pay for it.

Last year's championship looked really even. I'd say the same thing this year if the Heat/Thunder once again reach it.

You would think she would have some kind of source that would break any deal the Cavs have made sometime before the deadline ACTUALLY passes, much less 20 minutes after.

Nothing is happening and the key word in that tweet was "Cavs APPEAR", meaning she had no idea this entire time what was going on. Terrible PD writer. :chuckles:

Ay yi yi.

Ronnie Brewer confirms that he has been traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Not sure what the New York Knicks are getting back.

Marc Stein‏@ESPNSteinLine

OKC opts to trade Maynor to Portland to create trade exception as opposed to taking back second-round pick. Exception lasts for one year

Exception gives them some maneuverability of adding another piece in the off-season.

Really strong perimeter defender.

At least we have a group of people we can complain with. It would be no fun complaining by myself. Thanks for sharing the misery guys. I had a greatly terrible time with you.

Guys gotta realize not having Andy pretty much killed any chance we had on getting an expensive player....his 9 mil contract wouldve probably helped alot if we wanted a high paid player. Nobody else on our team makes that much and we wouldve had to combine like 3-4 guys to match salaries for a proven all star
