Tyronn Lue has been fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't think in the history of the league has the coach that would have went to the All-Star game because their team is a #1 seed in a conference been fired. If it was that bad, it should have been done after the finals run. I hope like hell that Lue is a good coach.

I think the reaction of the board will depend on how many elbow touches kevin love gets next game. Seriously I was a big blatt fan but if lue can do as good a job with the team as he did with the offense and he has removed all of lbjs excuses then it might just work.

On the other handy gut says he's not as good as blatt but I may be biased from his days on the douchbag Lakers

I'm fine with Blatt being let go. I am not sure why Lou is getting the HC job or a multi year deal. He's going to get fired at the end of the season anyway, so why put extra guys on your payroll. I'm sure Blatt will bounce back. He's just not the coach for a team that is in win now mode. Neither is Lou IMO, but lets give him a few games. Maybe they'll hire an assistant coach who can coach defense. Is Mike Brown still on the payroll?

If LeBron thought we had a long way to go to get to contender level like he mentioned after the Golden State game, then right now we're virtually back at square one with half a season to go.

I'm in shock right now. The timing was horrible and it almost looked as if we were starting to rebound after the GS loss. We're 30-11 for God's sakes, and we just went 6 games in the Finals last year with Delly as our second best player. And then this happens...

Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but I really don't have any confidence in Lue being anything more than a figurehead coach. I'm really disappointed right now, especially because we already signed him for 3 years without seeing him coach ONE GAME!

I'm.. floored.

I thought we really recovered after the GSW loss..

There has to be more to it.

Me too. However, I'm guessing there's something more behind this and I think folks should calm down a bit until we know more. We've seen other Cleveland coaches fired at odd times, been dismayed, and then found out later why it happened and it kinda made sense.

Best wishes to Coach Blatt. He had quite a run in a tough situation.

Same team, same roster, most of the same staff. Cavs seem to only run Blatts play less than half the time anyways.

Yeah this is drama to chew on but there's still 40 games and the playoffs to focus on. Enjoyed Blatt while he was here, but he was an emperor in Europe. He will only truly run a team his way if he goes to a young team.

I just don't see it. I think Blatt thinks the roster is flawed and needs some pieces to move. Namely Kevin Love. Not happening. Blatt goes splat.
That's different from not having is heart in it. No professional reason to fire Blatt. You won't have more with this roster than where you were going with Blatt. Love is not Chris Bosh. That's the big problem.
There is no real trades in the cards so they fired Blatt. That's total bullshit.

Um assistants are hired from other teams to be head coach for multiple years. Whats wrong with choosing your own assistant, one who you've actually worked with?

Why on earth give him a multi-year deal off the bat before he coaches a game?

If we don't win it this year I would much rather have our options open for a new coach in the summer.
The "lame duck coach" phenomenon must be real. Because no coach in any sport seems willing to coach under those circumstances.

He would have been the interim head coach for the rest of the season, just like Houston did.

You really think Lue would have walked from that opportunity?
