Tyronn Lue has been fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Tyronn Lue on the Cavs’ defense improving: “I’m not confident, but we have to.”

WTF did he actually say this lmao

Yes, he actually said that. I watched it live.
I wanna see what happens come playoff time. There were a lot to of people freaking out about Lue last year, and then the playoffs came and our offense came out of their shell and murdered everyone and we weren't great but we were average enough defensively to win.

We'll see. He's certainly earned some criticism, but there's also massive overreaction going on.
My biggest criticism of Lue right now (if I had to pick just one) is the accountability factor. He seems to be making a LOT of excuses as to why we’re not winning right now...different player ailments, JR’s “training camp” comment, that quip about how we’re saving our “playoff defensive schemes” for the playoffs to not tip our hand (which Kyrie kind of refuted 10 mins later), the list goes on.

I would like to see our head coach be more accountable and take more responsibility for losses, not just have an excuse ready for everything that doesn’t go right.

It’s in Lue’s best interest that he starts doing this now, because if the playoffs roll around and these same issues are happening, he will have run out of excuses by that point, and everyone will know the stuff he was saying earlier in the season was BS.

I decided to come in here and provide a counterpoint to the lynch mob mentality posts that show up here from time to time. Go ahead and keep your pitchfork sharp, and your torches ready if that floats your boat. But if we win it all keep your crow recipes ready once again, and we can lather/rinse repeat it again next year.
To be fair Sir Dom isn't anti-Lue any more than he is anti-Cavaliers.

The one exception is his weird almost stalkerish infatuation with Korver.

Because it's LeBron and he generally has a hidden message within the message. Especially the week where Lue is making stupid excuses after a tough loss...
The tweet thread is not about Lue. LeBron is big on youth ball. This was very clearly directed towards that. The whole world does not center around how Cavs fans feel about Lue.

It was very clearly about youth coaches... He even said that. I have no idea where you got that it was about Lue.

Oh this is def about Lue & the coaching staff, Classic LeBron hes 100% right the excuses coming out of Ty Lue's mouth are terrible just man up and say we suck and the guys suck and we're one of the worse defensive teams in the NBA right now and that's on me. The stuff hes saying are just ridiculous and LeBron is probably mad that the team is not getting checked and players like Love Tristan and Kyrie have been awful on defense for 70 games straight without any accountability.

LeBron never just tweets stuff, there's always a recipient and a hidden message

LeBron said not that long ago that Lue is the "best coach he's ever had" or something along those lines (I can't remember the exact words). This isn't about Lue. LeBron never clear designates an actor - in this case, youth coaches - while talking about someone else.

You guys are confusing your frustrations with Lue with LeBron's.

It isn't hidden. It is sugar coded. You just need the sugar decoder.
