Tyronn Lue has been fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ty Lue for the first year of a tank makes sense... If we end up trading for the #4 pick and getting someone like Doncic while keeping #8 and perhaps getting Bamba or Trae Young, then I'd expect Lue to be fired immediately and a more Euro-compatible brought in.

And how do you suggest we trade up and keep our number 8 pick?

Again having a coach whose sole purpose is to tank, without installing a system at the same time is foolish. Those Byron Scott years with Kyrie were wasted time.

@gourimoko Do you honestly want that for any young talent we might draft, wasted time where they really don't improve at the rate that they should. Don't you think Kyrie was stunted in some ways by having a bad coach like Scott his first two years?

Nah - I wouldn’t trust Lue to coach the JV team of the Firestone Falcons...

How is he still employed? Please be gone evil spirit!

LeBron ... we're not likely to fire Ty Lue until we know what James is going to do, and James will have a huge say in it one way or another.

Firing Ty Lue could create too much of a circus around the Cavs right now... I think our preeminent focus is on trades and the draft; with a coaching decision down the line, likely in August.

I think that taking out the trash should be the first step of EVERY offseason, whether LeBron James is on your team, or not...

I'd be interested to see what type of coach he is without the biggest bailout plan in the NBA. I mean, I'd rather it not be in Cleveland but it is something I want to see to prove all the Lue non-haters either wrong or right. My assumption is he'd prove to be the worst coach in the NBA as expected.

Kyrie on Brad Stevens on the Bill Simmons podcast - “it’s such a relief to have a basketball mind like that... doesn’t forget plays, knows when the shift in the game happens... it was breath of fresh air talking to him.”

Kyrie just can’t stop shitting on Lue, gotta say he would’ve been a great member of the cLueLess clan thing we have going on here

Damn, do we need any more proof? Kyrie basically confirms that Lue suffers from cluelessitis.

He's not wrong though

So brutal criticism of Lue from one of his former player proves that those criticizing Lue are wrong?

It would be one thing if Kyrie had been shitcanned from the Cavs, or had been known to bump heads with the coach. But when the criticism is this specific, and not being used as an excuse, it would seem to be fairly credible.

ETA: My mistake -- I thought you were defending Lue, and you weren't.
