Tyronn Lue has been fired

People will say it's crazy but Blatt I think would do really well in a rebuilding situation with young players, his issue was managing vets/star player egos. I like him better than any of the assistants on staff and with most of the other strong candidates hired (Fizdale, Casey, Budenholzer, etc.) we should at least consider it.

I wonder if blatt and brown are still under contract. Just bring them back have blatt as HC and mike brown as an assistant. Anything but lue.

I would be fine with Blatt on a Lebron Gone team in rebuilding mode. Especially with the rookie, zizic and cedi He might even be able to revive clarkson and hill.

Think the youngsters could develop nicely with a coach like Blatt and all of the drama removed

Blatt was not seriously considered to coach any NBA opening this year.. Lebron totally killed his rep and he most likely will not return ever. Lue was considered a competent players coach and now his x and o's and other required coaching skills showed extreamly lacking - would the conclusion be that Lebron is a Coach Killer? Or Lue was just professionally suicidal?

Unsure why but if you're a reject of a Lebron team your value plummets to negative. This extends to players we try to move. No one wants a guy that flops on a contender. Unfair as sometimes it's just a matter of a poor fit

This tells me that Lue is here for 1 more season at least. Otherwise, why would you hand out promotions to assistant coaches if you might bring in another head coach who might want to hire his own coaching staff??

What's even more comical is the notion of not rebuilding if LeBron leaves ("Will still pursue Kawhi"). I laughed at the Terry Pluto article but this move gives it some credence.

Lue managed to punt a regular season away and still provided zero playing time for the only players who would only benefit from it. Failed to develop young talent? Check.

Even if you argued that playing veterans was necessary to prep them for the playoffs, the most veterany veteran said he had no idea what his role was come playoff time. Failed at scheming? Check.

The locker room culture was so toxic that we had to blow the team up during a prime LeBron year. Failed at being a players’ coach? Check.

The sick thing is, keeping him is the only move. If we have to blow it up, he’s a great tank driver. He is also necessary if we want to keep LeBron. There’s no middle ground with LeBron. You’re either the greatest of all time and he respects you (Pop) or you’re a players coach and let him do what he wants and he keeps around for convenience.

This would be easier if he was even 1% likable. He’s dismissive and rude to the media. He provides no insight, even in hindsight. He’s so afraid of being expelled from the NBA players fraternity that his callouts are under three layers of vagueness As to provide him with an out
