Tyronn Lue has been fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If it's a financially prudent move for Dan, it sucks but I get it. Why lose a ton while paying multiple coaches? Keeping him b/c that's what will keep LeBron here is also understandable although still a little maddening.

Outside of that young players can develop bad habits and we've all witnessed the lack of accountability under Lue this season. What's unfathomable to me is how a career role player like Lue, completely missed on the importance of guys who do the little things while focusing entirely on guys who look good aesthetically while putting up shots regardless of their inefficiency or their effort on defense.

I think it's a move to keep Lebron or at least not hurt his chances of keeping him. I don't believe the financial aspect holds that much value.

Nevertheless, it's just a wrong move. Lue isn't the deciding factor in keeping Lebron, though he proved that he can be the deciding factor in winning a championship and developing talent and system.

I would view it as a cowardly move if he stayed.

What's frustrating is we could make a bigger jump with elite coaching than all the trades in the world. Part of GSW success isn't just the players, they dumped Mark Jackson for Kerr and took a massive jump just by changing the system and having a guy not afraid to mix in young guys and adjust the rotation.

Lue is such a stubborn ass and Lebron just completely controls him. Can already see the frustration coming even if we hit some homerun trades.

Just as there are other coaches who could have led us to victory in 2016(although EVERY single member of the org should get credit for not folding down 3-1), there are no revisionist coach swaps that would have resulted in the Cavs even taking GS to 7 games in the past two Finals, let alone win.

Not that in of itself, is no reason for keeping a coach around, but any attempt to suggest that it was coaching that prevented us from winning the 2017 or 2018 NBA Title is just so wrong.

Also, Lue being here while LeBron decides is more of a plus than if it was an open coaching vacancy. And no coach that LeBron would be impressed with is going to commit to taking that open job UNTIL they know wheter it includes LeBron or not.

Cavs would be 2-1 at least with a good coach, and then who knows?

Lue can't stay if LBJ stays or leaves. If he stays, we need a better coach. If he leaves, we can't have a coach around who won't play the young players during a rebuild (of course that is the same reason he needs to go if LBJ stays). Especially with the way the NBA is now, you have to have a coach who is willing to play and develop young players.

There's gonna be a lot of bummed out people around here when both Lebron and Lue end up being around for another year.

Why? Lol

"Oh no, if we don't start our rebuild RIGHT NOW then we are fucked for eternity."

I don't think there are many people who would be disappointed that LBJ is still here.

Lue, on the other hand....

Yeah, I just wouldn't watch next season until the second or third round of the playoffs.

Well you know Lebron and Lue seem to be kind of a package deal. Almost like Lue is the Lebron whisperer for some strange reason. It would be hilarious if Lebron somehow sold Kahwi to come here because Lue is the anti-Popovich.:chuckle:

No, even if we keep Lebron, land Kahwi, and win a title, people will hate them some Lue and I'll have to wade through their tears all next season.

Ok Mrs Lue
