Meaningless poll, but lets play....where will the pick end up after the lottery?

I don't see Ainge pursuing Kawhi. As others have said, I think he's either resigned to waiting out LeBron/the Warriors or making a power move for AD.

I'd almost do anything if it meant landing Kawhi, but I'd hate to part with Love. I'd be adamant that dumping a bad contract is a stipulation that comes with trading the BKN pick.

I'd offer the Spurs:

BKN
Cedi
TT

...and if they wanted Zizic as a sweetener, so be it. But anything else and I'm just not sure it's worth sacrificing the superstar upside of some of these draft guys, several of which would suit our team like a glove.

I like this scenario in a perfect world. If this is all that it would take, the roster would remain younger, talented and them adding a LEGIT star to take the burden off LBJ with the young guys- Clarkson, Hood and Nance.

DAMN!!!

Kawhi history w/ Quad injuries:

3/23/16 - Right Quad Contusion
2/6/17 - Quad Contusion
9/30/17 - Sore Right Quad
12/23/17 - Sore Right Quad
1/17/18 - Sore Right Quad

Not to mention the multiple hand injuries and documented ankle issues he’s had. The Quad issue dating back to 2016 and then again early last year indicates he has an issue with that particular muscle.
Perhaps his family sees that it’s another season that will require Kawhi to put the team on his back and put his body on the line and maybe they convinced him to sit this year until you’re 100% or at least traded. I think if CP3 is on the Spurs, Kawhi is probably out there at some point.

The contrasting reactions from Spurs fans is pretty insane, he’s either Kawit or Brandon Roy 2.0

Let’s get this things back on track with a look ahead at the key matchups starting tonight and extending through the weekend:

Tonight
NETS vs CHA
ORL vs NYN

CHI vs PHI
SAC vs OKC

Friday:
DAL vs LAL
PHX vs LAC
MEM vs CLE
ATL vs IND

Saturday:
SAC vs LAL
CHI vs MIN
ORL vs PHI
MEM vs MIA
PHX vs POR
DAL vs UTA

Sunday:
Nothing good

Monday
NETS vs CHI
ATL vs LAL

MEM vs BOS
PHX vs NOP
ORL vs OKC
DAL vs IND
SAC vs MIN

I do not like at all the Nets get the off days to practice between Thursday and Monday but what can you do.

Also, you can see by the bolder games on that the Lakers are pivotal in these next 5 nights. We really need IT and the return of Lonzo to lead a Lakers mini tank for a bit and get wins for ATL, SAC , and DAL

I’d also argue that LeBron, Hill, JR, and Korver(the over 30 Cavs) should rest on the second night of that back to back against MEM, but that’s not going to happen.

Need to rest everyone against Memphis... i'm not even kidding. This is a huge stretch right now for all the tanking teams and we need everything we can get.

Some tough matchups for the tanking teams here.

More important than anything else is just the Nets continuing to lose. But beyond that I could definitely see ORL beating the Knicks tonight. Could def see the Lakers losing 2 if their 3 games against the tank teams they play, and then I’m sure there will be at least 1-2 surprise wins in this 5 day stretch.

But the Cavs aren’t resting anyone against Memphis unfortunately. They’ll play everyone in the name of continuing to get the new guys acclimated.

To be honest, I’m kind of designated to being the 6th or 7th slot and then from there just hoping for lottery night luck or for some team ahead of us taking Bagley, Young, and Carter

I really wish we would rest at least LeBron and anyone over 30 against the Grizz.

Bron hasn’t sat a game yet this year. I feel
like we absolutely would have a chance to win without him. Need to start thinking about freshness for a playoff run.

At the same time...we really blew too many games in late December-January-early February. Not sure we can catch the Raptors but I think we can catch the Celtics and we should probably try to get the 2 seed for 2nd round home court if possible.

Part of me says fuck it, purposely manipulate the pick as much as possible...if we end up the 4 seed, so be it..lol

The reason is don’t see it happening is that we’re coming off 9 days of rest for most of the team and 3 days off rest for LeBron(with a three day vacation prior to the ASG as well)

Couple that with the new guys getting acclimated and my hopes just aren’t that high for a rest game tmrw against Memphis

Yeah we just traded for an entire squad and these young guys are being slowly acclimated to the offensive plays and defensive coverages (based on Clarkson interview). Momentum and cohesion across all units will be key going forward.

Just gotta believe in karma and hope that Phoenix/Dallas draft a bust ahead of us while we get a stud to fall to us at 5 or 6. I’m still holding out hope that Dallas loses their pick this year.

Memphis will win enough games with Evans back with their random assortment of gritty players + Gasol (I like their rookie as well). Memphis is 1-9 in their last 10. Tyreke didn’t play in 7 out of those 10 games. They won 1 out of 3 in the games he played in.

We'll have 2nd round home court no matter what because the Celtics will probably lose to the Bucks or the 76ers in the first round :chuckle:
