Russell had 30, 5 and 4 and they still lost last night to Indiana.

Yeah I know, they were still trailing with Lin on the floor. I was talking about last year though.

Losing Lin is a problem in itself because now Russell has to play the PG. Not sure if I feel happy about tha injury or not.. is that shitty of me?

I hated the Hayward injury, but I don't feel as bad about that one.

I'm personally all in on the "bring in the rook to be the Duncan to Bron's Admiral"

It's rare that title contenders get a chance to maybe draft an elite prospect with a top 3-5 pick. The Spurs turned that scenario into 5 titles and 20 years of 50 win teams(I know the Spurs are unlikely to be replicated though)

I like Cousins but not enough to trade the chance at an elite rookie that we control for 7-9 years.

Put a guy like Michael Porter on this team and protect him offensively with Bron and defensively with Crowder and just watch him blossom into an all time great...that's what
I'm doing with the pick.

Cousins has too many question marks and blemishes on his record to sacrifice the opportunity to solidify the next decade of Cavs basketball.

I need a legit top 10-12 player with no character blemishes to trade that pick. Guys that just won't be traded. George, Giannis, AD, Butler. 0.0000000001% chance of any of that....I'd trade it for Klay or Draymond too but obviously theres 0% chance of that.....

Just not seeing any trade that makes sense.
Boogie doesn't count.

Get boogie and you can't play him and Love versus GS. So then Love has to go for a wing and you're going to lose value on that trade his market isn't very hot. Just not worth it.

Porter or Bagley, IDC at this moment, but either way its gonna be amazing.

Nah this one is much worse and you should feel bad about it for JLin. He is one of the ultimate underdog stories, a guy who should have been at a big time D-1 program AND maybe a fringe lottery pick, but literally only due to his race he was passed by.

Guy still didn't give up and his skill ultimately prevailed when he had a chance. Then he bounced around a bit, had some injuries, but finally found himself back in New York and a great spot for him. He was going to be the team leader and he is fun to watch. By all accounts he is a great guy and teammate too. Very good ambassador for the game and a lot of 2nd and 3rd gen Asian-Americans. He really broke a lot of barriers, and when I ball these days, there are some really good Asian bros playing in a lot of pickup games, and I think more of Lin now when they are on the court than I do some nerdy engineer stereotype. (Not to mention I've been torched plenty) That's all on JLin and his determination and skill. So this is sad to see for a trail blazer and a good guy.

Of course...great for the Cavs.

Meanwhile, Hayward was a lottery pick, abandoned the team that drafted him and that had a nice young core. And he joined the unbearable Boston fan base. The "real sports city". Yeah it was bad luck, but I feel for Lin more than Gordy.

I'm not sure it'll be possible to suck harder than the Bulls, but I do think the Nets are a sure fire bottom 4 team.

That's all you can ask for. We will likely have a decent shot at the #1 pick and a very high likelihood of a top 5 pick. I see at least 5 high level, elite, star-level prospects, and some lower rung all star guys after that. 2 or 3 guys are possible mega-super-duper star prospects of the AD/KD/LBJ ilk.

Michael Porter....come on downnnnnnn

The Bulls are going to suck so bad and they are having major fights at practice?

This is a historical suck, like the original Deep Throat historical suck.

I just want to add to this...

They made 29 FTs last night...and still lost by 9 to a team people aren't expecting to be very good.

This team is going to be bad, because they don't have the personnel yet to play the up-tempo system they want to play without giving up 120+ a night on most nights.

Why people overreacted to preseason games and worked themselves up and convinced themselves Brooklyn was going to be considerably better, record wise, never made a lick of sense.

I dont want to trade the Pick, but hoping he becomes a Tim Duncan might be a bit optimistic. The Spurs didnt have a top 5 pick, they had the number 1 pick and Duncan was looked at as a LeBron level talent coming out. A cant miss prospect. And guess what, he didnt miss. I put him in my top 10 of all time players personally.

That said, the ability to get a top 5 player in a deep draft is just way to good to trade the pick.

I'm sorry but IF someone could convince Cousins to commit to 2-3 years, Cousins >>>> Nets Pick. Simple. Also to all those guys saying Cousins is not good at defense, well, please watch last nights game (i know, one game). He looked incredible on D, I mean like All-NBA! 7 Blocks! He was moving so well, it was amazing, he was lighter and quicker.
There were some amazing statistical breakdowns of DMCs non fitting game here. By excellent posters.

Like Douglar said, only for the top of the top.

I think people are way too PC about injuries.

Lin will get paid millions of dollars to do nothing.

I'm happy he got injured because it helps the Cavs.

It doesn't make me a horrible person, it just makes me a fan.

People are talking like he drove his car off a cliff.

He doesn't need a funeral, he needs a rather routine surgery. He'll be fine.

I just care so much about that pick I guess.. I think it's so important for this franchise to nail that one.

Well, I wouldn't even joke about Lin driving his car off a cliff with the way Asians drive these days.

For the love of God I hope the Cavs get Michael Porter or Doncic because if it's a big like Bagley or Ayton LeBron will marginalize them like he does with all bigs. LeBron brings the best out of wings like we'll see with Crowder. But then there's also the problem that the future will be dominated by Playmaking 5s so you need a big body to hang with the Embiids ADs and KATs of the future.

I do think there's a slight chance Minnesota does not live up to expectations this year.

If they are looking like a lottery team around the deadline, Butler could very well be available, given that he is a FA in 2019.

You make a great point and I do find it funny when you see stuff like "Prayers up!" like he's in the ICU or something. That said injuries like this can effect his quality of life later in life and that's not something that doesn't make me happy thinking about.

In the short term it's great for the cavs. Lin was definitely adding wins.

I agree. I don't think they fit. They have too many ball dominant player and half of them don't play defense.

They should have traded Wiggins when they had the chance, but now they are stuck with a player that's on a superstar contract that the only thing he brings to the table on offense is volume scoring that they don't even need, now that they got Butler.

They should have built a team of 3&Ds around Kat and Butler, but they chose to go with a ball dominant PG in Teague and to re-sign another ball dominant wing player to an albatross contract. They screwed themselves big time.

I feel for Lin, as he seems like a good dude. But at the same time, he does have a Harvard degree (?) and has made millions already, so he will be fine regardless of what he decides to do as a next step.

Will be awesome watching college ball this year and scouting the top prospects, been a couple years since we had to do that fellas!
