Welcome Deron Williams

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was listening to the D Will eps of Road Trippin podcast just now, it seems like he's still uncomfortable with his role- mentioned "just sitting in the corer to shoot 3s" twice in a negative tone, and apparently he recently got annoyed at the coaching staff for them asking him to be more aggressive. RJ also mentioned that D Will struggled in fitting into the team culture when he first got here.

Deron just seems like a weird guy. He doesn’t seem to really buy into “team” concepts and kind of just does his own thing. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that his best game for us was that Miami game where the big 3 sat and the entire offense revolved around him.

I just don't see this guy as any kind of long term fit. I don't think he'll be back regardless of the outcome of this series.

Griffin or whomever the GM ends up being must be able to find a playable back-up PG, preferably someone with more length and defensive ability than Kay Felder.

I agree. I like his game and think it would be a good fit, but for some reason my gut tells me that he's gone next season.

Hopefully he signs for the vet minimum and realizes he needs to continue to improve and stop his terrible decision making and constantly looking for LeBron to bail him out. And please hit wide open shots!

Or we could sign Tyreke Evans who is much bigger and more likely to sign cheap.

1 on 3 fast break with 3 defenders back and in foul trouble so you intentionally foul them.

Deron Williams everybody.

I will be pretty surprised if he is a Cavalier next season, I have been expecting this would be a half season union until he signs for more money than we can give him this summer to a team desperate for some veteran point guard help.

Not a snowballs chance in hell he is back next season. I am fairly certain both parties feel this way.

I definitely won't be to disappointed. He had a handful of pretty solid games but outside of those I was hoping for a bigger impact out of him on a consistent basis helping run the second unit. He did not live up to my expectations to what I thought he could provide to this team off the bench.

Until and unless a better option arises, bring him back. He was adequate and can help run a second unit, esp if they add Melo to the mix.

On one hand, he really disappeared and was useless in the Finals. Hard to be excited about having him back based off the last 5 games.

On the other he had like 40 games to adjust to being a point guard playing with LeBron and Kyrie who are both so ball dominant and the true determiners of how our offense runs.

So part of me says that with a full season here, he could perform better than what he showed these Finals. But the taxpayer MLE is too valuable to use on him based on what he showed.

So he'd have to settle for the 3 million vet minimum.

And I don't see a match there

Don't see any reason for us to show him the door. Korver and Deron weren't big in the Finals, but; these guys fill a useful need to get through the regular season.

If they'll cost less than $10M combined; I see no reason to send them packing.

He has NO HEART

Hard to win with a guy with NO HEART

Forget his atrocious offense for a second. He was unrealistically bad on defense. Letting cutter after cutter after cutter get easy layups because he's too lazy to play defense.

Deron played like he had better things to do than be there. He can go fuck himself. Happily I think he also hated it here so good riddance

Also how I feel.. it's why I can excuse Korver on one hand and not Deron in the other. Korver still put forth the necessary effort on defense even if he wasn't shooting well. Deron had zero intensity.. not a care in the world, from all appearances. Really surprised it didn't work but.. it didn't.
