Welcome Larry Sanders and So Long

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Can I still take this bet?
I admit I was wrong big time. Didnt make any sense. It was one of two things. He sucked behind closed doors or they had something planned. The first was most likely but didn't want to believe his rim protection could be worse then what we have.

Can't say there isn't some disappointment but his replacement looks good so far

And there you have it.

That's a crock of shit stirred by Jason Lloyd, the constant Cavs apologist. So you're going to feed the media a bunch of hoopla about providing support for Sanders, being there through the thick and thin and developing him for the following year, but immediately sever ties when the guy's late for a bus???

The simple answer here is that Griffin fucked up the front court rotation this year.

Ah. This makes sense.

Although I have to say, it sounds like the bust potential with Sanders was pretty high from the get-go.

I still think the optics of this on our end aren’t good. It makes it seem like we were in such dire straits to find another big that even had a chance at contributing for us that we were willing to take a gamble on him, when every other NBA team couldn’t be bothered.

If you actually bothered to read the article, Griffin clearly said him being late for the bus was NOT the reason they decided to cut him, and he didn’t consider it an incident. But at that point, the Cavs org were like “what are we even doing with this guy?”

The main reason he was cut is because he was so far away from being able to help our team even in practice, and it doesn’t sound like even a full offseason would be enough. That’s all it came down to, full stop.

I also think it’s hilarious that you’re accusing Jason Lloyd, who in my opinion often has negative takes, of being a “Cavs apologist” :chuckle:

It's beyond terrible. For the life of me, I cannot understand how someone who is not part of the team, and does not have extensive inside information, can be outraged, and so completely certain this was the wrong move.

We just don't know. The dude may have been spacing out in practice, unable to keep his endurance up, not learning the assignments, etc.. We don't know.

I knew it had to do with Larry kind of giving up again and I heard he was also causing minor problems with the players when he was up. I do not think he was being Bynum lazy but I do think he was down on himself and trying to do to much and got in a funk. It was a nice try by the Cavs they got a young somewhat project now so all is well. Bogut and his injury flatted the mood and Sanders never helped it back up and Liggins was not happy (rumor) so they brought in a locker room guy and a young center many wanted.

You could see it in him as someone who suffers from this kind of thing he does it is easy to get down on yourself because you are so sure you had it. He felt he could not do it and these kind of people will hide rather than face it and the people around him. However yeah It is shocking how some posters here are so dead set on the moves they make, playing time, Lue that I feel some are going mental over all this with out seeing the final outcome.

I do know Lebron is a stickler about being on time. He sees being late as ultimate disrespect.
Yup. It was a big reason his relationship with Blatt was on thin ice even from the start.

If the coach couldn’t be on time to things, there’s little hope of getting the rest of the team to.

Now that I think about it... I think in one game before Eddy hit twenty maybe in ten minutes he already had more everything by far than Sanders did his entire time here. Does anyone know the exact minutes and stats?

And Blatt's whole Euro lax with walking around the locker room naked...please, someone find that story about LeBron yelling at a naked Blatt in the locker room.

But this was probably a combination of the LA arrest, him making little to no progression over the last few weeks (he looked just as off in Miami as he did in game 1), and then missing the team bus was the straw that broke the camel's back.

This uncoordinated baby giraffe we just signed looked better than Sanders looked at any point with us in his 1st minute alone tonight...never mind the other 20+.

It might have been the last straw for all we know. The guy's heart overall might not have been into it.

I don't like how we completely ignored the front court going into the season, but I can give the Cavs a pass here.

Bogut gets bought out, yeah, all is right. We finally have our center that can defend the rim at a high level, hard worker, etc, then literally two minutes he's done for the year.

Who'd have literally thunk that? Without much options left, they turn to Sanders. Completely unreliable as they come but with some proven talent/production when he last played but with obvious risks. A guy out of NBA shape, out of the league the last few years, pot head, and well, just a weird dude that takes on the Dennis Rodman persona in this era without the talent to back it up.

There was really no shocker if he just didn't work out. I doubt the Cavs ever had serious high expectations or faith in him.
