Welcome Todd Haley - Browns OC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
IF he turned those guys into gold? What? What kind of argument is that? You could make that argument for every position coach ever. Those guys were absolute crap. He’s done nothing special.

So are you saying other QB coaches would have done well with them?

Mary Kay says Ryan will be one of several coaches that will interview for the OC gig.

Texans didn’t block the interview.

I have no idea but how does that qualify him to be an OC?

Sounds like Houston was planning to promote him to OC, but O’Brien isn’t giving up play calling duties and this guy wants to call plays.

So...

Lmao this guy..

God, Hue is such a God Damn idiot...... reading back the quotes in that article..

As for the coordinator issue, Jackson said earlier this month that he hasn't hired one yet because he knew the offense was too challenged for a new OC.

"I got the job because of what I did on offense (and) I didn't think it was fair to give anybody that title and not have a football team that was worthy of that guy to be the leader of it when I didn't think it was where it needed to be," Jackson said. "I have seen these (situations) before where coaches hire guys and they put them in that role and they fire that guy and they keep on going and they keep getting opportunities to stay here. I didn't want to do that. I didn't think that was fair."

I seriously cannot believe this was said out loud.

"This is way too hard for any mere mortal to suck at doing" - Hue Jackson

He's been in the league since 2007

9 years with NY Giants
-Promoted twice within the Giants.
-Position coach for Victor Cruz and OBJ in their rookie seasons.
-Position coach for Eli Manning in 2 seasons. 1 in which he made the playoffs, 1 in which Eli had arguably his worst year as a pro. OC was fired

2 years with HOU
-Promoted from WR coach to QB coach after 1 season. Already receiving outside interest for an OC position
-Position coach for DeShaun Watson in his rookie season
-Failed to turn Tom 'Randy' Savage or TJ Yates of Hell into franchise QBs

This deserves its' own thread.

I put this in a different thread, but it fits here too.

The one guy I'm hoping he goes after is James urban, the wr coach in Cincinnati.

He's been a wr coach in Cincinnati for 7 years and has experience with hues offense and someone he should be able to trust. He was also a qb coach for Andy Reid for a few years as well. Below is a great article with urban going over game plans and what the offense tries to accomplish on any given play.

Not sure I want the WR coach who couldn't even get a top ten pick on the field this year.

He wasn't hurt for most of this year. He was just inactive.

Pretty sure he tore his acl in college, hurt his shoulder in college (and had surgery), he then missed a few weeks in the nfl with a knee injury and then finally placed on ir with a shoulder injury. The bengals taking a receiver that high with other glaring needs was questionable. He was a healthy inactive for a good amount of the season, so there's that.

Yeah, my point was it's hard for me to get jazzed about a WR coach who had a top ten pick and great WR prospect and he couldn't even get him on the field when he was healthy. I know he missed some time early in the year, but he must have not been developed at all if he couldn't even get on the field for that shit Bengals team that had nothing to play for for half the season.

Okay, did you read the article I linked? He knows the offense that hue likes and should be able to transition into that role easier than others. You also aren't including Marvin and him being reluctant to playing rookies. Plus you're the guy that pumps the breaks on anyone criticizing Coleman because it takes years to develop as a wr.
