What do you think will happen…not what you want to happen.

PRO: Well be in the playoffs for the next decade EASY.

CON: The ceiling of this team may not peak at a Championship level team. More simply put, were still one peice away.

Second rd year one
Con finals year 2
Lebron returns we win it all year 3.

Gotta go with Champions

This is a championship core if Mobley lives up to Garnett/Duncan levels, this is a dynasty.

Cavs fans spent the offseason laughing at the a Lakers, who will have to trade their future just to keep LBJ happy... Then the Cavs turn around and deal away 4 1st rounders and their starting SF on a good deal for an overpaid John Starks 2.0.

Edit: someone just pointed out this clears out SF for Luke Travers. I rescind my prior opinion, good job clearing the deck for the Australian Rambis.

In most cases, when super talented players with all star + potential are put together, you very much know what players you're getting. They're finished, or close to finished in their development/hitting their peak.

With the Cavs, the sky is the limit. Mobley is nowhere near a finished product, Garland still has a lot of room to get better even as good as he already is, and Allen/Mitchell are still super young and in the early stages of their prime.

The core pieces of our roster may not change very much over the coming years, but we really have no idea how high this team can peak as a unit with continued development and chemistry.

Excited for the season!

Depends on what Mobley’s peak looks like and how long it takes him to get there. Mitchell is five years older than Mobley so it would help if Mobley could peak by 23-24 when Mitchell is still in his 20s. If Mobley peaks as a superstar by that time we could definitely be a contender. If Mobleys ceiling is more all star level I think we peak out at maybe ECF one year. Boston and Milwaukee aren’t going anywhere

What many of you are saying seems right to me. How good we can become still depends on how great Mobley becomes. You simply don’t win titles without at least 1 superstar, top 5, kind of player. I think Mitchell and Garland are all-stars but not superstars. Allen is absolutely good enough to win a chip in his role, but his role isn’t carrying a team. Mobley is the one who can become special. If he does, the rest of the pieces are now enough for us to become true contenders.

Seems the consensus is it all depends on Mobley and I concur.

Championships are not out of the question if he becomes the best version of himself.

We’ve got a long long way to go until that happens, and chances are the core looks different between now and then anyways.

We win the east this year as Mobley wins MIP. I put $50 on both of those things happening…and when it happens, I win $71,000. With that money I can afford courtside Lakers tickets where I convince LeBron to sign with the Cavs and fill a hole at SF. Champs in 2025.
