Where does the Mitchell-Garland-Allen-Mobley core peak?

As it stands right now probably a 2nd round team with a ceiling to get bounced early in the 3rd. Still gotta figure out the 3. Unless Mobley becomes AD next year then all bets are off.

This team hasn’t peaked and isn’t close to peaking. It’s incredibly young and already is a top 4 seed.
If they don’t become Olka City 2 and want to lead their own teams, they can become a dynasty.
There’s no team as young with this much talent in the NBA.

We win the east this year as Mobley wins MIP. I put $50 on both of those things happening…and when it happens, I win $71,000. With that money I can afford courtside Lakers tickets where I convince LeBron to sign with the Cavs and fill a hole at SF. Champs in 2025.
I’m gonna have to ride your coattails on this one. Sounds fun.

It depends on if they can somehow find a solid small forward.

If they can't, the ceiling is probably a lot lower than one would hope.

Is there a reason "Masters of the Universe" wasn't a poll option?

Cavs fans spent the offseason laughing at the a Lakers, who will have to trade their future just to keep LBJ happy... Then the Cavs turn around and deal away 4 1st rounders and their starting SF on a good deal for an overpaid John Starks 2.0.

Edit: someone just pointed out this clears out SF for Luke Travers. I rescind my prior opinion, good job clearing the deck for the Australian Rambis.

I came here to say that when we sign the best SF in the world next year Luke Travers, we are a top 1 team. You beat me

Talent wins in the NBA...some would argue we just got a top 15 talent, which we didn't have anyone at that level yet. Plus the expectations from Mobley, in particular...we will start to run out of excuses for title contention in the next 3 years. As a fan, how can anyone be mad about that?

It depends on Mobley's peak. He could max out as a top 5 player in the NBA. If he does, they win at least one title at some point. If he doesn't, they should be in the conference finals a few times and see what happens from there.

As a serious answer to this question, I actually think we can call all of this a success even if we don't win a championship. I think rings are overblown in the grand scheme of things, and we got our big one already. I want to watch a team that is consistently competitive, is fun to watch and is relevant every year.

Utah's recent run should be the bare minimum IMO and I think we can keep it going longer given our team doesn't have a bunch of primadonnas (looking at you BKN). Another good example is Boston who have been relevant since 2017 as a top 5 team in the East with a few ECF and even a finals appearance to boot. If you can get to that level, a few lucky breaks and you find yourself with a ring or a good shot at one (Miami in the bubble). We are well on our way to making to being there, but I dont expect it this season.

First round exit?

Seems possible.

If Allen miraculously develop a three pointer ala Brook Lopez then we will be a championship caliber team, imo.

First round 4-1 losers. Is the answer.
