My attempt at speaking Windhorst-ese
Amare Stoudemire is probably out of the picture.
This I completely agree with. It's going to take something rather strange in order for us to see Amar'e in a Cavaliers Uni. Sarver is going to have to, once again, change his mind and make a rash decision to dump his star player for relief. He can't own the Suns if he doesn't have money.
Marcus Camby, Clippers: A strong defensive player who can also score inside and out, this is the kind of big man the Cavs would want. Plus the Clippers probably want to dump salary. However, it is unclear whether he's truly available and recently the answer has been "no."
Deal is outstanding right now, the owner has to give the go ahead. Honestly, I think there is a very good chance he becomes a Cavalier, in my opinion.
Chris Kaman, Clippers: Only included because fans keep asking about him. He's been out months with injury and has a contract that runs past 2010. 0 percent chance.
All true. No need for him, especially this year.
Vince Carter, Nets: Forget what you read elsewhere. Cavs are not interested. Doesn't sound like the Nets will make any trade.
To me, this sounds like a smoke screen. I think if the Nets called up the Cavaliers right now, Carter for Wally, it'd be a done deal. From all reports, the Cavaliers are very interested, but the Nets want more than Wally. Doesn't matter anyway, seems like if Carter goes anywhere, it's to the Spurs.
Richard Jefferson, Bucks: There's a chance he'll be traded but not to Cleveland. Bucks already gave the Cavs a free big-time player.
Biggest lie I've seen from Windy in a long time. The Bucks aren't going to trade him to Cleveland because we already got Mo Williams? Makes no sense in my opinion, and I wouldn't be shocked if Richard Jefferson did end up here. Not as likely as Camby, but certainly a possibility.
Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison, Wizards: GM Ernie Grunfeld told the Washington Times: "Over the course of the last four or five years, we established ourselves as a winning organization, and we want to keep going that way. Once we get everybody back, get all of our pieces together, we can be a very competitive team." In other words, no trade.
Ernie Grunfield knows he can't get equal value for any of them, so neither will be traded. If he thinks that team can really compete, however, he's nuts. Only one I could see traded is 'Tawn because of his awful, terrible, stupid contract, but really doubtful they'd hand him over to us.
Brad Miller, Kings: The Cavs could've had Miller anytime in the last month if they wanted. They are still considering it but aren't sure if he's that much of an upgrade considering the risk to team chemistry. He's also not having a very good year, is in questionable shape, and is coming off a drug suspension.
No chance in hell.
Tyson Chandler, Hornets: He's an intriguing name, however the Hornets will want a quality big man or two in return and it is questionable how effective his complete game is.
Possible, but sounds like the return would be out of the Cavaliers asking price. The Cavs will probably stay in contact just in case, might even make an offer, but I cannot see how he ends up a Cavalier, personally.
