Woj: Paul bends to King James' rule

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This generation of "super stars" are a bunch of pussies. It's like everybody wants to suck each other off and be friends than beat the living shit out of each other. Chris Paul, I hate your face.

True dat. I remember when I used to play pick up ball as a kid with my friends. We all know what each other is capable of and try to even out the teams so it can be competitive. That was the beauty and fun in playing sports. To compete against the the best and overcome the competition. Even if you fail, the reward is that you gave it all you can and in the end, everyone respects that.

I fuggin hated the dumbarse kids who always tries to stack a team just to win. I hated them so much that I wanted to beat them at all cost even if I had to resort to playing dirty because they think just because they're taller, faster or could jump higher, they're somehow entitled to a win and I wanted to punch their faces everytime they whine about a foul. Everytime I beat them, it made the win that much more satisfying.

I supported Lebron when he was in Cleveland because he was the player that didn't have all the pieces yet was able to lead the team to the best record in the NBA twice. Then he left to gain a competitive advantage and became the kid that I detested growing up. I used to like Chris Paul. Now he can go to hell. I hope Durant, Brandon Roy, Deron Williams and all the younger players have a the old school mentality of competition and don't fall prey to farce that is to become Lebron James legacy.

CP3 is largely ignored globally/nationally down in New Orleans. He isn't even as high profile as Deron Williams down there. If he wants to do what's best for his brand, he'll go to a real NBA team.

Until Shin sells that team the Hornets will never turn the corner into being a real team. Paul was stupid to resign for so long with them.

Also if WWW is the one that got Cho hired, then all hail WWW. First Asian GM in all of the major sports in the US. That's pretty big. And if he lands CP3 out there in Portland, then it's even bigger.

Woj is obsessed with WWW though. Spurned lovers?

I swear, I personally think this guy works for Maverick Carter and LRMR.

LeBron James is the biggest douche bag in sports. He is not only taking himself down, he is trying to take everyone of his NBA friends down.

Agreed, they are on path to take a third of the leagues teams and have them moved to China and Europe. Many of these teams will not be supported with the apparent business plan these players have for the league. IMO.

Let's not forget that Paul has made mistakes in the past. I think that was a red flag to some of the teams who stupidly passed over him in the draft. I think his emotions just got the best of him at the moment and he has seemed like a good guy overall.

Well, technically, Chris Paul wanting to leave his terrible team to join a contending team would indicate that he wants to compete at the highest level, not stay in the bottom...

and yes, I'm mostly saying this because he mentioned Orlando :chuckles:

At least SOMEONE is raking the muck, regarding the fetid swamp that is today's NBA. More than any other league, the NBA is run by a cartel, and I pray that it suffers as a consequence.

One thing is for sure and that's Woj absolutely hates LeBron James.... He's not even hiding it...

It also indicates that Chris Paul does not want to work for a title. He could be recruiting players to come play with him. He could be a good patron of NO and his state he plays in. He could be a loyal player who knows his fans love him. He could actually honor his damn contract he himself signed.

But nope. He'd rather be the LeCheat James of New Orleans.

I hope that if this trend continues, the "small-market" teams would just form a league of their own and completely cede from the NBA. Leave the NBA with 9 or 10 teams and let's see how that will workout for these superstars. Owners need to step and throw the hammer down (no pun intended) to these brats and make sure that they are still the boss.

i hate how lebron has annointed himself "godfather" of the league despite the fact he hasn't won jack so far in his career. i further hate how everyone in the league just bows down to him and kisses his feet.

people in the league need to start standing up to this douchebag...and not just non-miami columnists

Pretty sure Kobe and Durant strongly disagree with you.

Also, I love your avatar.

You act as if him joining a contending team would mean he would have to work less... this isn't LeBron James joining Wade AND Bosh, it would be Chris Paul asking to go to a team with a least some future and serious playoff contention.

While it's certainly not the best way to go about it, it's just not comparable. Do you think Paul would be doing this if his team just had consecutive seasons winning 60+ games? The "superteam" being formed might've been the last straw. If he had any hope for his franchise, I'm sure the Heat crushed it all. Most teams feel like they need to catch up, and his Hornets aren't going anywhere for a few more years. Maybe he feels slighted by them. They were always extremely cheap and never made any serious moves to get him any help. Overpaying guys like Posey and Peja and trading Chandler for Okafor and his monstrous contract.

Look, demanding a trade certainly isn't a good way to go about it, and I was extremely mad when T-MAC did it (the guy wanted Okafor instead of Howard). BUT, that doesn't mean wanting to get out of a shitty team to join a team in contention makes you take the easy way out. This is EXTREMELY different from the LeBron James fiasco, and people keep comparing it. Since Chris Paul was drafted, that team has made it to the 2nd round ONCE and either didn't make the playoffs or got knocked out in the 1st round for all the other years. Some guys would actually like to compete for once. This is no different than when Kobe demanded to be traded, yet Kobe is the ultimate competitor and Paul is just a guy taking the easy way out??

Oh, and as people have been mentioning, Woj is definitely banking on angry Cleveland fans and their tears for his writing. It's extremely easy to get someone to agree with you when they're angry/frustrated/hate the guy. LeBron and his teammate are definitely a bunch of slime balls, though

If I'm Dell Demps I take Chris Pauls' "list" and throw it in the garbage.

None of the teams have anything that's worth trading Chris Paul away for when you have him under contract for two years. He should honor the commitment that he made, they're paying him..aren't they?

I see that happening too, but he might also put his pride aside and realize he's going to lose his superstar anyways, so he might as well rid himself of his terrible contracts now and go into rebuilding mode (again) earlier. He might wait a little longer (a year) and hope Paul doesn't opt out and there are better offers by then.

You are not upset about Paul or about the article because you know he now prefers to go to Orlando.

He needs to honor his contract. Period. Do we really want the players to dictate what they are going to do and when they do it? To hell with signed contracts as they don't mean squat anymore? Is that how we want the NBA to be about?

I don't.

Meh, in two years Okafor will be movable for unproductive expirings, so when Paul leaves, you can trade Okafor away as well, and you can send Paul to wherever he picks in a S&T and get yourself a TPE and some picks, which is honestly a better rebuilding package than any of his destinations could currently offer unless you're really high on Gallinari.

Hell, in two years, the Knicks might even be able to trade a pick again. :chuckles:
