Woj: Paul bends to King James' rule

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You are not upset about Paul or about the article because you know he now prefers to go to Orlando.

He needs to honor his contract. Period. Do we really want the players to dictate what they are going to do and when they do it? To hell with signed contracts as they don't mean squat anymore? Is that how we want the NBA to be about?

I don't.

NBA has been about that for decades.

And while that certainly helps, even if he didn't name Orlando, I still wouldn't be shocked or angry. Certainly I'd think of Chris Paul as another douche, but the NBA is filled with them and I don't particularly get too emotionally invested in the players and their personalities, so I wouldn't care that much. I'm a lot more bothered by a good player being half-assed basketball than a good player wanting to compete at a higher level.

Nothing wrong with hating on LeBron... I'm glad guys like Woj are exposing the ridiculousness of LeBron/WWW/LRMR.

Those of you defending these clowns need to have your heads examined. Woj's advice to CP3 is spot on.

Meh, in two years Okafor will be movable for unproductive expirings, so when Paul leaves, you can trade Okafor away as well, and you can send Paul to wherever he picks in a S&T and get yourself a TPE and some picks, which is honestly a better rebuilding package than any of his destinations could currently offer unless you're really high on Gallinari.

Hell, in two years, the Knicks might even be able to trade a pick again. :chuckles:

Oh, don't worry, the Knicks are going to be giving away their picks for Kevin Ollie next.

Also, even if Paul ended up in Orlando....

That team doesn't beat Miami.

As much as I'd like to see those fuck-faces in Miami get beat, it's going to take a full healthy Lakers team playing at full force to knock them out.

I mean, what's to stop them from playing LeBron at the point to take Chris Paul out of his game and to create a ridiculous defensive mismatch?

LeBron and Wade will just hurl themselves into Howard's body and foul him out.

Woj may as well blame global warming and world hunger on Lebron while he's at it.

Wade is the only one I see going at DH. I thought that would of been Lebron's plan of attack but he didn't do it. Unless that was just part of his I don't give a shit act. I see Howard going off on Miami like he did against us. Miami has nobody that can guard him.

Well, if they did that, Orlando could try to go for a look with Lewis at SF, who destroys every SF he gets paired up with. Granted he's a liability there defensively, it would certainly force LeBron to play him, leaving Wade or Chalmers/Arroyo on the SG, and a guy like Pietrus could post up on either two of those guys all day long.

But if it went down, Orlando's roster could look totally different. If they did match the Heat, though, a lineup of Paul/SG/Lewis/Okafor/Howard would definitely see the floor a lot. Both Okafor and Howard would lock down the paint and cover for Lewis, and the fouls could be distributed evenly between Howard and Okafor.

You can sit there and honestly say that LeBron/WWW/LRMR aren't dirtying the NBA with their recent meneuvers? Or that CP3 wouldn't be destroying his image by successfully navigating his way out of New Orleans?

Not trying to be a dick, but I honestly want to know how people can defend these actions. Paul is absolutely being used as a pawn to flex their LRMR muscle.

Eh, LeBron won't even try on D until the end of the game anyway :chuckles:

And LeBron didn't exactly hurl himself into Howard's body all that often 2 years ago.

Wade will get all the calls, and that's how they'll win it... if they do.

Mike Miller could handle Pietrus easily, and even do a decent enough job on Lewis. The Heat don't have to play Chalmers or Arroyo, and are probably better off without them TBH.

Okafor being on the floor renders Dwight Howard useless. Whenever Howard gets the ball all you do is send whoever is supposed to guard Okafor at him. Okafor has no range so it would be easy to recover on a pass to him and even if you don't he'll probably miss the lay-up anyways.

Mike Miller wouldn't be able to handle Lewis. And while Howard improved his perimeter passing out of double teams this year, he GREATLY improved his inside passing out of double teams. Howard's offensive game wasn't much affected when Gortat was on the floor with him, and Okafor is a little better than Gortat offensively.

I thought Orlando was awful when they played twin towers this year, just become much much easier to defend as a team.

Miller could handle Lewis well enough, better than most power forwards could. He's 6'8, he'd do fine.

Listen you have no idea how hard I'd be rooting for Orlando in a series against the Heat, but I don't think they'd be able to beat them, even with Paul.

Mike Miller isn't much of a defender at all, and Lewis' usually always has his way when going up against smaller guys (size and strength).

Orlando hardly got any burn with the twin towers because of an already messed up rotation, but the times they did it during the regular season, it looked good. Defense and rebounding was spectacular. Using it in the playoffs didn't help much because not only did Gortat play like crap, but it was also sort of a rhythm killer. The look was used mostly in the middle of the season, hardly any games after the all-star break, and certainly not in the first two rounds. It just didn't get enough burn, especially when the team already had Bass and Anderson fighting for PT.

I certainly don't think Paul coming to Orlando makes it an easy title. It will certainly still take a lot to beat that Heat team, but it would definitely make it very competitive.

These guys are really playing with fire stroking their egos. Someone needed to call them out, and if it's Woj, then that's fine, his words are piercing enough to make him my ally.

By doing this.. orchestrating trades, plotting to tip the boat a certain way... it's just messing with the one thing that keeps us watching the league, and the game... destiny. You were drafted into this league, no matter what happens to you, you do your best to succeed in that situation.

You should know better LeBron.. you named your son Maximus. You know about how he was an untouchable star, a general, that was thrown into slavery against his own will, but continued to claw and fight and became victorious, loved and adored by banding together the men he had around him. Would you have liked the story more if the gladiator revealed his identity, bowed down and joined forces with the king instead of fighting the good fight?

This makes me sick. Seeing this disgust out in the open, complete disrespect for the competitive nature of the game... I just expected this to be more than just a pickup game.

DWade is the king of the NBA? Give me a break.

This is more like Wonder Woman, Batman, and Aquaman teaming up to take down Superman and Krypto.
