Woj: Paul bends to King James' rule

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think Woj is looking to far into this.

Even Windy said word is Lebron told Paul to demand a trade.

I am really starting to hate the NBA. It's hard to like it anyone.

Too many worthless, prima donna athletes that act like the entire world stops and starts for them.

Chris Paul is another worthless superstar in today's generation of athletes.

Another guy who hasn't won jack shit by the way.

I can't stand Kobe Bryant, but he has quickly become my top 5 favorite basketball player. Isn't that sad?

The thing about Bryant is that he has quietly become a favorite of many. Why? Even though he has had his personal crap, etc, that most of us do not like at all, the guy keeps winning and does not concern himself with the stars "underneath" him. He's has probably been laughing all summer long. In the meantime, very quietly LA has picked up a few nice pieces to go with what they already have. As it stands right now, I don't see any team out there able to beat them in a seven game series if they stay healthy.

I like the Lakers off-season. Picked up Blake and Barnes. Two quality role players to add to the team for depth. Good move by the Lakers. Blake is an underrated player who can stretch the floor, and make plays for others. Barnes a good defender.

Lakers are still the favorites to repeat. They might have their best team yet.

Rape. Never for me.:thumbdown

Lebron and Paul are two of the biggest douchebags in professional sports. James dedicated a one hour special to announce his departure from Cleveland, a team that drafted him and made him into a super star. He stabbed the franchise and its fans in the back on television and didn't even have the decency to tell the owner where he was going to sign. He does all of this to leave a team where he has been voted the MVP for two years straight to jump on board Dwayne Wade's team.

Then you have Chris Paul trying to abandon New Orleans. You know, the city that was ravaged by Katrina. The Hornets were one of the few things that city had something to look forward to. He's now trying to demand a trade just because he's bored and hasn't won anything even though he's practically a god there.

There's no way to defend any of this.

The Saints just won the Super Bowl, so I think NO is about as content as it can be with sports right now. And as long as they have Mardi Gras they'll be just fine. It's not like it's Cleveland we're talking about, where the sports teams are the main focus of the city.

Yeah, it's very sad, considering Kobe did the exact same thing Paul is doing...

Kobe did, I'm not claiming he's now a saint or anything. To Kobe's credit, he eventually did shut up and stayed put. I know they got better, but still, he seems a lot more likable compared to these two douchebags. I don't actually like KOBE now, but I DO compared to most star players today. lol. Pretty sad.

It really, really makes you appreciate a guy like Tim Duncan. You never hear a peep out of him. He's definitely my favorite basketball player, and is the only real superstar in the NBA that I have any true respect for. EDIT: Can't forget Steve Nash (sorry if I'm leaving out others). A guy like Steve Nash is just totally awesome in my book. Doesn't bitch and moan like other star players. Actually has respect for his organization.

Kevin Durant is nice too, but he's still young and can be corrupted. Let's hope not, the NBA doesn't have many superstars for fans to really rally behind anymore. D-Wade, Bosh, Bron, and Paul aren't guys I like, or the general public can say they're representing a better time in the nba.

I used to be a Chris Paul guy, but he's now a D-bag in my book. Stick with your team! Be a man! Franchise players don't bail on their franchise in the prime of their careers. I mean, if a guy has been there for 10 years or more, is now getting older and has given everything they have to that franchise, then it's understandable if they choose to leave. Of course they're entitled to leave, but you'd like a little more loyalty and pride from players today.

Chris Paul and Lebron James are hardly the case. They are both young players. If guys like Wilkens, Stockton, Ewing, Miller and Erving stuck it out on their teams for majority or their entire careers, I don't know why these guys can't do it. Once upon a time players actually represented the teams they played for, and took a lot of pride in representing a city, now they just represent themselves.

Athletes are just spoiled. They make millions of dollars, and get a wonderful privilege only so few are fortunate enough to experience. I laugh anytime a stupid, spoiled athlete complains about what a "terrible" situation they're in. Really? They make millions of dollars, are superstars in their respected sport, get to sleep with any hot woman they want. Yet they complain? Demands and complaints like that makes me want to smack them in the face until my hand falls off.

END OF RANT!

I agree about Duncan. Don't forget Dirk.

But at the same time, what Paul is doing is no different than what Kobe did. Only difference here is that the Lakers were able to STEAL Gasol, and the Hornets might not be able to. I just can't understand the reasoning behind someone hating Paul and praising Kobe. If anything, praise the Lakers organization for being able to pull that trade out of their ass.

It's definitely a shitty move, but nothing new... not to mention the Hornets have been just awful (in terms of getting help, firing B. Scott and Bower). He's being a dick but different people take different paths to win. Also, if anything, LeBron is just adding fuel to the fire. The same rumors about Chris Paul wanting out of New Orleans were arising last year already, and I doubt LeBron had anything to do with it then.

Also, to the guy mentioning "destiny" (WOW.), this is totally destiny. First Shaq bolts and calls the city trash, then, after the team banks everything on getting T-MAC, Hill, and Duncan, Duncan decides to stay and Grant Hill gets injured another 100 times. T-MAC then can't wait anymore and demands a trade. It's time for Chris Paul to reverse the curse!!! :chuckles:

Kobe never wanted out though. I'm not excusing Kobe, and I don't like Kobe. Kobe was just forcing the Lakers hand, and trying to get them to make some shakeups and bring in some higher quality players. He wasn't serious about leaving.

It was still wrong, childish, selfish, and showed the same characteristics that Paul is showing now. Kobe Bryant hasn't done anything stupid recently, that's why I can like him more than Paul or Lebron. lol.

And..... At least Kobe has WON SOMETHING! Chris Paul and Lebron James haven't won a championship, yet they act like their demands and requests should never fall on deaf ears. There's nothing worse than superstars athletes who have never won jack shit, whining and complaining.

So to Kobe's small defense, at least he had done something meaningful and was someone who had at least established himself as an nba champion(even if it was with Shaq at that time). So it's not like Kobe hasn't given the Lakers anything whatsoever, compared to what Lebron and Paul has given their franchises. Great players, yes. No championship rings.

Kobe is definitely not a saint, and he's definitely an asshole. Not as big of an asshole as Lebron and Paul.

Kobe was about as close to signing with the Bulls/Clippers as Paul is to the Magic/Knicks/Mavs/enter contender here

I don't buy the whole seniority thing. Don't see how just because Kobe happened to win (you know, for the organization with more rings than half the league combined), it means he is entitled to demanding trades more than someone who hasn't won a ring... I think both are douchebags for doing it just the same amount.

Oh, and had the Lakers not gotten Gasol, I can almost guarantee Kobe wouldn't have stayed with the Lakers.

Asked if he had any preference for a trade destination, he said "At this point I'll go play on Pluto."

CP3 is largely ignored globally/nationally down in New Orleans. He isn't even as high profile as Deron Williams down there. If he wants to do what's best for his brand, he'll go to a real NBA team.

Until Shin sells that team the Hornets will never turn the corner into being a real team. Paul was stupid to resign for so long with them.

Also if WWW is the one that got Cho hired, then all hail WWW. First Asian GM in all of the major sports in the US. That's pretty big. And if he lands CP3 out there in Portland, then it's even bigger.

Woj is obsessed with WWW though. Spurned lovers?

Enough of this "brand" garbage. "Brand" is translation for selfish, individual based, glorified money making scheme's via your name. That's what "brand" is, nothing more, nothing less.

Rape. Never for me.:thumbdown

Right, because he was convicted right? It never even went to trial. The Eagle DA was looking for a quick 5 minutes of fame and got it. There was NEVER any evidence to substantially prove he did anything against her will. I hate that someone can so quickly judge another person without any merit, just crap being spewed out of your mouth, as horrible as something as rape, yet feel like they're so perfect that they've never made any mistakes in their life. He admitted to cheating on his wife, hell, most athlete's do, but who are you to call the man a "rapist" when it was an accusation that NEVER held any water. I bet you've stolen candy once in your lifetime, you must be a life long thief, right? :thumbdown

He flirted with signing with the Clippers when he was a free agent(which was never that serious I believe), and was supposedly close to being trade with the Bulls. Kobe actually had a clause in his contract where he could block any trade he wanted. He blocked trades to the Bulls and Pistons. If he wanted to be traded that badly, why block those deals? Pistons had a pretty good package too, and the Lakers accepted, but Kobe declined the trade. The trade would have kept the Pistons very competitive, a championship caliber team just like Kobe wanted.

I never bought it that he was seriously trying to get himself traded. He kept back peddling on his comments. He was letting off some steam and was frustrated by how the team was constructed. He went on Stephen A. Smith's show throwing a fit about the team. Remember, he was trying to push Bynum out the door.

I'm not excusing Kobe for what he did. But yeah, I am saying least he won something for that organization. Least he actually done something meaningful for them.

Paul has been there for what, 5 years? Has only made the playoffs twice? Has only won one stinkin' playoff series. Who is he to demand anything?

Arguably the best (probably 2nd best because of the injury) point guard in the NBA who posted consecutive seasons of 28+ PER, also finished 2nd in MVP voting in 2008, his 3rd year in the league.

Not to mention Kobe has been demanding things since before joining the league... he didn't go to the Lakers by mistake, don't forget that.
