Re: Woj: Rockets trying to move Thomas Robinson

If Howard goes to Houston, there's a good chance Josh Smith could follow. Which could make Atlanta the front runner for Asik in a sign and trade.
josh smith is such an awful, awful fit in houston tho. i think/hope morey is smarter than that.

asik in atlanta would be kinda nice. they are rebuilding but at least horford would be able to slide back to his natural position.

How the hell did Robinson's stock fall this far in one year?
1. spending half of it in sacramento
2. going to a team that refuses to let anyone interfere with its ability to offer howard a max

not that he still has top-5 pick value obv, but it's more than what the package houston just got for him.

Re: Woj: Rockets trying to move Thomas Robinson

They will use him as a backup until he grows as a player and proves himself.

Or, they figure he can play the same role JJ was playing better then Mr Hickson was if they never manage to get that true center. That, and he cost them peanuts to acquire.

Re: Woj: Rockets trying to move Thomas Robinson

Robinson alone doesn't mean Aldridge is gone but with all the young talent the Blazers are obtaining, they are certainly preparing for his departure.

Re: Woj: Rockets trying to move Thomas Robinson

Everyone, just remember, drafting Jonas could have led to the drafting of Thomas Robinson.

And to think, some were wanting to give up the 19th for Robinson. Another bullet dodged.

And, btw, does this not obviously make the report by whichever guy that the Rockets had the 19th and/or 20th pick available for Robinson? If that's the case, seeing what they got, would they not have pulled the trigger?

EDIT: And I don't know if it means anything for Aldridge. Just Portland taking a flyer on a guy with some potential while not giving up much in return. Just to see what he's got. I do, however, think it pretty much ensures JJ Hickson isn't returning to Portland, despite his supposedly awesome play.

Now, Houston is supposedly making Lin and Asik available, and that I don't fully understand. If they have enough space to sign Howard, why give away the rest of the team? Unless, like was suggested, they wanna clear the space to make a run at Josh Smith too?

cause neither asik nor lin fits with howard, so if they can swap them for players who do fit with howard (NOT josh smith), they have an even bigger selling point.

i don't think they'll move either until howard is signed, but if they do and somehow end up missing out on howard, the team would still conveniently fit really well around andrew bynum. calculated risk, but pretty sick.

Re: Woj: Rockets trying to move Thomas Robinson

They may want to make a run at Josh Smith, Jarret Jack etc.. Basically any PG or PF that suits Dwight. They feel set at SG(Harden), SF(Parsons) and C(Dwight if he signs)

If the Cavs would have taken Jonas, they still would have taken Waiters.

So according to Wojnarowski, foreign players are the NBA versions of "future considerations."

Aldridge is as good as gone.

How do you figure?

Berger reporting Detroit is interested in Lin, possibly for Calderon in a S&T.

Calderon is a little on the old side - 32 when the season starts - but he's a great fit next to Howard. Definitely better than Lin, and maybe the alternatives too.

Teams making moves for good players.....Wonder where we fit in. Its our time
