Would you trade JJ for Randolph?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Keep in mind the cast of characters that Randolph has been around in GS and compare that with who he could be paired with here. He would benefit by playing on a quality team with a good atnosphere and the best player in the game (please re-sign).

Edit- Forgot to say, lets roll the dice and do it if we can.

Get it done Fer...Grant

I do this deal regardless of whether or not lebron signs. Randolph has star potential, jj probably does not. Randolph is no more a roll of the dice than anyone in the draft not named john wall or evan turner.

Now that I think about it, the second trade you mentioned with Maggette might be pretty good. We'd have to give up a lot more to get Iggy, and is Iggy really that much better for our team? (I know he's younger). Maggette can defend.

Randolph vs JJ is tough. If Randolph's shot is significantly better, which it seems to be, I'd take Randolph. His rebounding can't be much worse than JJ. The only thing is, JJ is quicker overall: quicker feet, quicker explosions, etc. I don't think you can rely on post defense for either player, so that's a wash. Randolph supposedly gaining that muscle helps my decision. That Randolph/Maggette deal is something to think about.

Uh-oh:

DraftExpress (Jonathan Givony)

Anthony Randolph for Kevin Love? Heard some chatter about that from a pretty good source. Makes sense for both teams. Need to dig a bit more

That's awful for Minnesota. Just awful. #6 better be included and even then it's still meh for Minnesota.

I really really want to get rid of Hickson, but not for Randolph. I'm not high on Hickson whatsoever. I honestly think he'll never be an all star level talent and I also believe his stock will never be higher than it is now. In that case, get rid of him now. My problem with Hickson is that he is way too wild and I think he's a terrible shooter. If he's not dunking or laying the ball in then he is a tremendous liability out there.

I wouldnt do it, JJ seems to have a better head on his shoulders and has more of a PF body

Yeah but you forget that Kurt Rambis is an idiot who brings Love off the bench for like 26 minutes a game. Don't ask me why, maybe he hates seeing one of the few pieces they have that fits the triangle succeed. Or maybe he doesn't like to win the rebounding battle.

I think it's a little hard to tell on a kid that is hardly 21. JJ Hickson is a big man and they take longer to develop usually. With the work ethic JJ seems to have, I'm not sure I want to trade him. We don't really know what JJ will turn out to be with a whole offseason to develop and be able to to actually attend a big man camp this year.

Couldn't agree more. JJ benefits like the rest of the players on our team by playing with LBJ. JJ's getting better but at a snails pace. He travels consistently on his face up game. Really has no kind of post up game to speak of and there's a 50% chance he wont draw iron on his jumper. He was a good pick @ 21st and may turn into a solid starter in the NBA but his potential doesn't scratch the nuts of Randolphs.

Be careful about using the "p" word and basing too many of your opinions off of it.

JJ is only 21 years old. He is probably the first athletic PF that LeBron has ever played with in this roster. The kid is already a better rebounder and defender than Amare so it would take a homerun deal to give him away.
