Would you trade JJ for Randolph?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What I am saying is that he isn't a worse defender, but he is a much better scorer and that is a fact that I can't over look. We want a second option, well Monta is at least a better second option than Mo who disapears completely in the playoffs. I know Monta has issues, but so did Mo before he came to us, Mo was never exactly a healthy player until he became a part of our team.

Monta has played in 11 career playoff games 22mpg shooting 39% and 11% from 3.

Wasn't that in his first two or three seasons though? Monta has come a long way since those days as a player

Why not Biedrins ? Seriously it was only because of his injuries last season he hasnt putting up big numbers

He can't score worth shit, have u seen his free-throw shooting? Oh and his defense is sub-par, another example of a mediocre player on a bad team getting numbers.

oooh i already forgotten his horrid ft shooting, his reb stats overshadowed that part

Kind of off-topic, but I guess we can't be "Ferry's advocate" anymore via the "Trade Rumors & Ideas" summary. :(

I think if we take Maggette's contract with it we could probably work out getting the 6th pick there. That gives us two young players. I agree we should attempt to add a big player via sign and trade but if this deal happens i would in now way be angry. You add some much needed youth to this team.

This. With as much as LBJ runs the point I really think we should dump Mo for the best deal we can get and give Boobie another shot, especially if he gets stronger again next year just like he did before this year.

Another thing Boobie would bring is attitude. Dude is unconcious. Mo seems to let the playoff atmosphere get to his head.

Why Maggette? He really doesn't fit on the Cavs. I'd much rather for them to go after Baron and Kaman. That way, they can get rid of Mo Williams and/or Delonte West.

I like Hickson, but I'd trade him in a heartbeat for Randolph, the kid is a 7 footer and has the skillset of a SF.

Given that JJ doesn't attract interest from a team with a major piece (i.e - Bosh), I think this might be an interesting topic to ponder..

Randolph is once again a part of trade talks after being in trade talks all throughout last year... Randolph and his agent seem to want out of GSW and Nellie seems to want Randolph out of GSW... So without a doubt he's available..

Last year I remember the Cavs being linked to Randolph and the Warriors also being linked to Hickson...

So I think this is a legit possibility, especially with the Warriors wanting to get rid of Maggette as well and the Cavs having interest in Maggette last year... Perhaps something like JJ, Delonte and Jamario for Maggette and Randolph?

Without typing long-winded rant on why I'd take Randolph for Hickson, the bottom line is that Randolph has a higher ceiling... Randolph also has the frame to be better matchup wise on defense and has the potential to be a bigger mismatch on the offensive end... Both players are in the developmental stages and we've seen how much JJ has progressed but we've also seen how much matchups matter in the playoffs.. And to me Randolph helps us in that category more so than Hickson...

Thoughts?

I think the only way we end up prying Anthony Randolph away from Golden State is to cook up something along the lines of Corey Maggette or(Insert random horrible Golden State contract here)/Randolph for Maurice Williams/J.J. Hickson.

What is with the anti-Mo Williams sentiment that has run wild on this board?

I understand the guy has his faults and isn't as good in the playoffs, but for f**k's sake, have we forgotten about the past Cavs point guards? Mo has done a better job at "point guard" than anyone else in the LeBron era because he complements him nicely. I agree that if you can upgrade the point guard spot by trading Mo, you do it, but shit, some people want to ship his ass out for nothing.

Man, I pray for the Cleveland point guard amnesia that some of you "anyone but Mo Williams!" fans are experiencing this offseason.

You posted the main reason why there is a huge anti-Maurice Williams sentiment on this board. It's right there in your stat lines. 2008-2009 playoff field goal percentage: 40.8%. 2009-2010 playoff field goal percentage: 40.9%

It's very hard to argue with you when you're making my points for me. :p

I don't think Mo Williams is the worst point guard in NBA history like some seem to, but this much is crystal clear to me from what I've seen over the last two years: Mo Williams is not good enough to be the starting point guard on a championship level basketball team.

Mo hasn't produced well in the playoffs and has been torched by the top PGs but for the 82 game schedule he plays pretty well. What I'm trying to get at is that we might be a little spoiled in that we're putting so much emphasis on playoff numbers and rightfully so. Other teams would be happy to just make the playoffs and in the right scenario happy to have Mo. Now that doesn't mean we're going to get equal worth because he does have some flaws but there could be some takers.
