Your 2018 Browns Plans!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Here's my take...

Keep the coaching staff and front office but this is a make or break year. Hire an Offensive Coordinator (this is a must)

Free agency
Vet - QB I'll be so pissed if they sign McCarron and try and make him the FQB
Jeremy Hill - RB
Jarvis Landry/Allen Robinson - WR
Trumaine Johnson/Malcom Butler - CB
O-line depth

Draft
1a. Fitzpatrick - FS
1b. Darnold - QB
2a. Trade back into the 1st round with this pick & #65. Guice - RB
2b. Oliver - CB
2c. Jerome Baker - LB
Rest of the draft take high upside guys... Maybe a guy on each side of the line as well.

2018 Depth - LOADED with young talent....

QB - Kizer, Darnold, Vet
RB - Guice, Johnson, Hill
WR - Gordon, Landry/Robinson, Coleman, Britt, Higgins
TE - Njoku, Devalve
OL - Thomas, Bitonio, Tretter, Zeitler, Coleman, Free Agent, Reiter, Banner

DL - Garrett, Ogbah, Nassib, Orchard, Shelton Ogunjobi, Coley, Brantley
LB - Collins, Kirksey, Schobert, Baker,
CB - Johnson/Butler, Taylor, Oliver, McCourty, Boddy Calhoun
S - Fitzpatrick, Peppers, Kindred

Guys who are already great or are young with star potential:
Guice
Gordon
Landry/Robinson
Darnold
Njoku
Garret
Ogbah
Collins
Fitzpatrick

Guys who are good or have very good ceilings:
Kizer
Entire O-line
Coleman
Duke
Shelton
Kirksey
Schobert
Baker
Johnson/Butler
Oliver
Peppers

Lots of young unknown talent that needs time to be developed.

No reason this team couldn't be 8-8 and fighting for a wild card spot.

Sashi gets fired........

Manning gets brought in as the new GM, hitched to Hue for at minimum, 1 year

Saunders is promoted to OC

David Lee, QB coach is let go

Jeff Fisch (props to keys on that one) is brought in as new QB coach

Defensive staff stays put

Tabor is finally let go

Crowell is let go

Free agency:

Mccarron on a 2 year deal, only 1 is guaranteed

We trade one of our 2nd rounders for a wr, if not 2 depending on the target (OBJ)

Sign FS Allen-

Kindred or Peppers is traded, don't need 2 in the box SS..... my guess is Kindred

Draft:

#1 QB - Rosen....if he's medically fine
(Fisch, the new QB coach was his OC at UCLA, hence the pick)

minkah- FS/CB

RB - guice, Chubb, someone

WR - Ridley, St Brown, cambpell, Washington, Cain, whoever is slotted highest

Homer pick alert...........Mason Cole- OL - immediately challenges for the RT spot, can play anywhere on the line

Mccarron starts the season well but fizzles out by midseason and we are 3-5.

Rosen steps in and relying on our new RB, we finish the season 8-8

Fire Hue, let Sashi find his guy. For the love of god, don't bring in a football guy and replace Sashi & Co.

Through the first three rounds add any of these guys:
Courtland Sutton or Christian Kirk at WR
Rosen or Jackson
Royce Freeman or Rashaad Penny at RB
Draft the best pass rusher on your board.
Use Day 3 picks to with trade down/move up or snag veteran players.

If you snag a bridge guy at QB, make it a year or two deal tops, someone like Keenum would be great.
Add LB depth in FA.
Make a run at Trumaine Johnson.

Peppers continues his transition to FS and Kindred is your starting SS.

If this team is 3-5 there will be a parade...

What I would do:

Fire Hue
Hire John Morton
Draft Rosen and Ward
Sign some more weapons, plus a legit vet QB

What I think happens:

Sashi is fired
Replaced with someone close to Hue. Maybe even someone still in this front office. Grigson, perhaps, or maybe Berry is made GM. Hue consolidates his power
Draft Jackson, because I think thats Hue's wet dream.
Sign Jeremy Hill, McCarron and maybe a WRer.

We need to hope that Marvin Lewis cedes his position as HC (probably to move upstair) and CIN looks for a new HC. Come on down Hue. I would give up a draft pick for CIN to take him.

-I have no idea whether Manning gets hired or not, but whatever.
-Hue? Gone. Coordinator is what he is.
-Josh McDaniels, Mike Vrabel=realistic coaching options. But shoot for Gruden and the like.
-Picks? #1 overall- Lamar Jackson, #7 (Texans) Mike McGlinchey, OT Draft James Washington from Oklahoma State in the 2nd Round.

You forgot the final stage of this, that by July/August fans on here have mostly talked themselves into the picks and are ready to go, predicting 11-5 season and a playoff berth.
Fast forward to end of October when fans convince themselves that the record is not want really matters and that you can show massive improvement without winning games. Wait that has been the last two years.

Right?

If I hear that from anyone next year... :chuckle:

-Bryce Love at 3.1
