Your 2018 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I am surprised I haven't seen really many updates in here. Urshela and Beliveau both got DFA'd and the Indians acquired RHP Drake from the Brewers for cash considerations.

Now that pretty much isn't super important, but the Indians with Morimando getting hurt, Merritt, Salazar still out and the bullpen struggling, they will likely make a move for another LHP coming here soon. I am not sure who we are going to target, but I will not be surprised to see a trade or two to help out the bullpen.

It may be a mistake, but I've viewed possible transactions with this team in terms of what they'd look like in the postseason instead of the regular season, mostly because some of our faults (5th starter) don't matter come October.

POSITION PLAYERS: 13

C - Gomes, Perez
1B - Alonso, Encarnacion
2B - Kipnis, Gonzalez
SS - Lindor
3B - Ramirez
OF - Brantley, Zimmer, Chisenhall, Guyer, Davis

Other internal options: Naquin, Mejia, Diaz, Allen

PITCHERS: 12

Starters: Kluber, Carrasco, Bauer, Clevinger
Relievers: Allen, Miller, Salazar, McAllister, Otero, Goody, Olson, Tomlin

Other internal options: Taylor, Ogando, Marshall, Drake, Merritt, Plutko, Bieber

I think one way or another, if Salazar returns, he'll be a reliever in the postseason. If he isn't, Clevinger slides to that role. Ideally, you'd want to replace at least two of the final five relief options I listed.

On the offensive side, upgrades would seem to be in RF or 2B, assuming full health.

The Indians may target a high-end reliever (Iglesias/Hand/Britton), a solid reliever (Brach/Soria), and a solid bat (Moustakes/Jones/McCutchen).

IF we were looking right now, honestly I see why people would say 2B, but for better or for worse, we will be stuck with Kipnis for this season so either he produces or we move on from him next season. I cannot see us moving/cutting Kipnis now when his value isnt there and will Diaz at the moment be an upgrade or trading for someone like a Machado really help us short and long term in a way?

I don't see the 2B being touched at the end of the day so my guess is we are leaving that alone, unless we can get a Machado at Bruce's price of last season.

OF I could see us going to get someone for, but honestly it isn't RF that we are having the issue at the moment since Naquin actually is playing fairly strong, it is CF we aren't getting much production just yet. I wouldn't be surprised for the stretch run we acquire a veteran CF (i get Zimmer is the future, but if he doesn't start producing with the bat then we are going to go elsewhere and replace him for the season and he will be back in the minors)

Our real concern at the moment is the bullpen. Miller and Goody are hurt and just about everyone else isn't doing as well as last season. We need to find a very good solid LHP who can be a 7th inning type of guy in my mind. I am not sure what the market is right now, but a setup not a LOOGY style of LHP is what we need out of the pen. I think that will put everyone back to a better role overall and I think will help settle down the bullpen. I guess even getting a RHP setup guy is fine, but I just prefer a LHP right now since Miller doesn't always stay healthy and Olson doesn't have a track record outside of last season.

There is a reason this team’s BP is so bad because we lost the best pitching coach to the Mets. At this point anyone is better than Tomlin. Time to let him go! No BP, DL. Just let him go!

The bullpen has seriously regressed under him. The only loss was Shaw, yet overall the bullpen is costing this team games... Which it hasn't done since the Manny Acta era.
I would agree with that. Willis should have never got the job. He needs to retire yesterday!

Can Erik Gonzalez keep hitting enough to stay on the field. I really like this kid. He’s so smooth and look like a young A-rod. If only he had that talent.
Are you Kidding? He might be the size of Arod, but he’s a weak hitter. With his size he should be hitting bombs.

Coming out of Spring Train this team should have either traded or Dfa’d Kipnis, Mccallister, Chisenhall, Gomes or Perez, and Tomlin.

Please stop with your hot takes. If you’re going to continue, give reasons why and who realistically you would replace these players with.

Yeah, that's not good.
