Your 2018 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
How long until every Bieber changes their last name?

At what point can they do something .173 Kipnis? Or are they going to give him the first half to figure it out.

Drop him down in the damn order

They...did
Whoops. Last game I watched he was still up :chuckle:

Give me a pass I’ve had shit going on lately. No need for the smugness all the time.

Hey almighty @AZ_ you trying to be Huber with your trolling now?

If Kluber wins a third Cy Young how many wins would he need to tally up to get into the HOF?

If he remains with 2 how many would he need?

Gomes is doing more in 1 day than what Roberto does in a goddamn month

If Kluber wins a 3rd Cy Young, he could retire on the spot and make the HOF pretty much.

Here's the list of guys with 3+ Cy Young awards:
  • Roger Clemens (7)
  • Randy Johnson (5)
  • Steve Carlton (4)
  • Greg Maddux (4)
  • Sandy Koufax (3)
  • Pedro Martinez (3)
  • Jim Palmer (3)
  • Tom Seaver (3)
  • Clayton Kershaw (3)
  • Max Scherzer (3)
All HOF guys or guys (Kershaw/Scherzer) who are pretty much locks.

If Kluber wins a 3rd, he'd have more than guys like Tom Glavine, Bob Gibson, Gaylord Perry, Justin Verlander, and John Smoltz.

If today holds, he'd 82 career wins and close to 1270 career strikeouts. If his health holds up, he can easily pitch 6-7 more years at an elite to very good level. Should have no problem getting to around 150 wins and maybe close to 2000 strikeouts for his career.

If he doesn't win any others, it might be a bit trickier, as not all of the guys with 2 Awards are in the Hall of Fame.

Here's the list of guys with exactly 2 Cy Young awards:

- Tim Lincecum: 110 wins, 1736 K, 3.74 ERA - doubt he's getting in
- Roy Halladay: 203 wins, 2117 K, 3.38 ERA - Not sure about Halladay. Most of the metrics have him borderline
- Johan Santana: 139 wins, 1998 K, 3.20 ERA - Metrics say Santana probably won't be getting in
- Bob Gibson: 251 wins, 3117 K, 2.91 ERA, 1x MVP, 9x Gold Glove - HOF
- Tom Glavine: 305 wins, 2607 K, 3.54 ERA - HOF
- Gaylord Perry: 314 wins, 3534 K, 3.11 ERA - HOF
- Danny McLerin: 131 wins, 1282 K, 3.39 ERA - not a HOFer
- Bret Saberhagen: 167 wins, 1715 K, 3.34 ERA - not a HOFer

Kluber's career arc looks to be heading relatively close to Johan Santana in terms of final numbers, and Santana likely won't be getting in. He could really use that third award to pull him into some elite company.

Zero. Wins are irrelevant now. What he needs to do is continue to pile up WAR and put in 5 more very good/excellent years. The HOF is also a popularity contest, so spending the next years of his career in Cleveland will hurt without overwhelming numbers. Where his next stop is will also be an important factor. Hopefully he stays healthy and keeps it up because he has really had an excellent 5 year run.
